Dear fellow Britmodellers,

here's my 1/72 Hasegawa Ju-88 G-1, built from the box, with Schatton metal antennas added.

The model was painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics, weathered with artist oils.

All photographs by Wolfgang Rabel.

This is the latest version of Hasegawa's Ju-88 series, released earlier this year.

According to my research, 4R+AK from 2/NJG2, flown by Johannes Strassner, was the only  Ju-88 G-1 fitted with the experimental obliquely mounted MG151.

The gun barrel comes as a metal part.

The prominent exhaust stains, commonly found on G-1 aircraft, was sprayed with Gunze H95 Smoke Grey in several thin layers.

Towards the end I added a drop of Black for tonal variation.

The squiggle pattern on the upper surfaces were painted freehand.

Brake lines are from stretched sprue.

Roman, very nice result!

This recalled me mine seven Ju-88/188/388 kits peek on me from stash, asking me silently crying for build...  ;)

OUTSTANDING Roman!!!!!!!  I marvel at your skills to replicate an accurate rendition of these complex camouflage patterns found on Luftwaffe aircraft. Making the subject even better is that the Hasegawa Ju-88 is by no means an easy kit to put together.  Someday I`m going to visit and see your museum in miniature. :like:

Beautiful as usual!!!!! :clap2:

Brilliant, I've often fancied building one of the Ju88 nightfighters.

Near the end of the war one ended up in Ireland having defected here from Norway. We Irish had no use for it and offered it to the British. No less than Eric Brown was sent to collect it. Despite being advised otherwise he and his colleague appeared in uniform to receive a frosty reception. But once he changed into civvies he had a hilarious night in Dublin. A situation that hasn't changed since. I remember the Red Arrows having a hilarious night in Dublin a few years ago.

Anyway that's a brilliant build of the type.

Brilliant work as always!

What a versatile airframe the Ju-88 turned out to be.

Beautiful build and paint

Superb job, especially the hand painted 'squiggles'!

I'm currently waiting for their G-6 version, on a slow boat from China, estimated arrival sometime in October.

Regards, Davey.

A great job, Roman, I like it very much. Can I afford a little tip? Perhaps it would be better to paint the holes of the Waffewanne in black or dark gray .

Greetings from Verona.

I agree with you Giampiero - I must have overlooked this detail on the finish run!

That's a gorgeous Ju-88, as others said the camo is very skillfully done and kudos for remembering to continue the exhaust stains onto the tailplane! I have never seen that gun installation before, was it an early attempt at the Schräge Musik mounting?

Top notch work right there mate.

Very well done indeed. Thanks for sharing it
