Seamus
Evening all, It's four down, one to go for my 48FW theme build, following the completion of this Trumpeter 1/72 F-100D. My second Super Sabre of the year, it was just as largely trouble free as the first with no real pitfalls as far as fit is concerned. I added an Aires exhaust I found in the stash whilst the decals are from an Xtradecal sheet- I believe the gate guard at RAF Lakenheath wears the same markings. Finished using Alclads mostly- I used dull aluminium to represent the silver paint used on the bulk of the airframe, with the centre panels of the wings and tailplane sprayed in a slightly darkened tone. The exhaust area was finished in a range of metallic and hot metal colours over an aluminium base. Much happier with the results here compared to my previous build. SAT69
Your handling of the burnt metal on the rear fuselage is excellent. A great model completed. Congratulations.
ColinChipmunkfan
Well done Shaun, I agree with SAT69 the staining on the rear fuselage is difficult to get right and you have have done it really well. A great model! I remember seeing the Thuds flying from Lakenheath and at the open days ( far too long ago).

kapam
Brilliant job! I might not have considered myself a Super Sabre fan, until now. A most stately looking jet, I 'd have to say.
RidgeRunner
That is very nice, Shaun. I'm even tempted to abandon my Esci and Trumper combo build and to simply build a Trumper with a new nose :). Martin
mustang1989
That right there is an exceptional build! As was stated up a few posts.....the burnt metal effects really put the cherry on top for this one.
