wellsprop
Hi all, Another one complete from me FAA jets collection, this time the first jet to see active operations in FAA service, the Attacker having never flown in combat. Trumpeter's 1/48 Sea Hawk - the main colours were brush painted using Hataka acrylics and the stripes were Tamiya TS-47 Chrome Yellow - possibly a little to gold/orange in colour, but Suez stripes came in many variations of yellow anyway!) and weathered with an ink wash. Decals were kindly donated by @mahavelona and are far better than Trumpeters offering. The terrible ejection seat was replaced with a beautiful replacement from Pavla and the pitot tube was replaced with some brass rod. The actual build was fairly straight forward but I had to spend a lot of time trying to get the wings to match up nicely along hte fold line, and I lost a few panel lines doing so. Embarrassingly, I have to admit that this wasn't my first attempt at this kit... The first model fell off my work bench after I had sprayed it and it smashed into many, many pieces - it ended up in the bin and I bought a new kit... Oops. Anyway, I'm pleased with the final result! Thanks for looking! On to my Sea Venom next Ben
mackem01
That's a beauty, lovely colour scheme. I would love to attempt something with stripes but I'm put off by the multicoloured stripes. Great job though.

Dr. Quack
A beauty. You've managed the tricky curved demarcation lines (my nemesis) perfectly, and the stripes look spot-on to my eye. Love it. Q
