Hunters in the Sun

Thanks for all your kind remarks concerning my photos of "Hunters in the Snow". This is the logical follow-up.

When the Hunter was withdrawn from Swiss Air Force service many were bought by individuals, museums and organisations. One such group is the Hunterverein Obersimmental which operates the "Papyrus" Hunter in a colour schmeme based on Fliegerstaffel 15's paper aeroplane emblem. Once a year there is the possibility to see the Papyrus and other Hunters flying. These photos were taken at St Stephan in 2008 and 2011.

The lady on the left wearing anti-g trousers is about to have a flight in a Hunter. In the Sabrina (link collector) is a video camera and she will receive a DVD as a souvenir of her flight.

Thanks for showing. I remember the last Hunters in 1994 (when I was doing my RS) when they took off from Interlaken towards the Kleiner Rugen. Extremely impressive, just started a tight left turn right after take off....

Michou,

I have a soft spot  for Hawker Hunters.

:wub:

{MY late father  who was in the Indian /British  Army took ME as a kid to see an Air show  while he was stationed in Pune, India(way back) and I fell for the Hunter...}

Your collection of  photographs of Hunters in the Sun is just WONDROUS  to gaze upon.

They are So aesthetically  pleasing to MY eyes.

I dearly would love  get a flight like that lucky lady.

:wow:

Thank you for sharing them.

:clap:
