davecov
That would probably be the magician Jasper Maskelyne although his version of events seems to be at odds with the officials at the War Office. Dave
Graham Boak
Maskelyne worked in the MIddle East. There is an excellent work on the decoy airfields produced by English Heritage. Fields of Deception, by Colin Dobinson. The initial idea was to ask the aircraft industry for mock aircraft but their bids were all expensive and the job was therefore given to the film industry. With considerable success. This is one of a series of books of his on associated subjects, such as AA defence and the Diver campaign.
