zebra
Here's my 1/144 Zvezda Ilyushin Il-76, converted to an Il-76LL engine testbed. The test engine is the Aviadvigatel PD-14 intended for the Irkut MC-21 and was 3D printed and decals for the Gromov Flight Research Institute were custom printed. You don't seem to see a lot of the Zvezda Il-76 kits built which is a shame, it's an interesting aircraft. I've seen others comment that it's over-engineered - perhaps it's not as simple as many 1/144 kits, but it's a nice kit and I enjoyed it. Build thread is here. I have another Il-76MD kit and a Beriev A-50 in the stash. Might have to have a go at an Il-976SKIP next. thanks for looking Julian 37
Alex1978
Thats a great and also unusual build. Superbly executed. I never saw this livery before, its awesome and suits the mighty IL76. I have 2 of those kits in my stash but not got around to start them yet due to my overloaded bench...😉 Thanks for sharing 1

Deano353
That's cool man it's funny how a paint job can make an old design look modern. I like the Russian jets Is this quite large?

zebra
Thanks everyone! 1 hour ago, Alex1978 said: I have 2 of those kits in my stash but not got around to start them yet due to my overloaded bench...😉 Make some space on your bench and build them, it's a nice kit and you won't regret it! 27 minutes ago, Deano353 said: Is this quite large? It's not too big in 1/144 - a little over 30cm long, so I've got room for another

Viking
I really like that! Very interesting with the test engine mounted, and a superb colour scheme. (I also must get mine out of the stash and build it!) Cheers John

eng
Wow, that beautiful, and a nice unusual choice. The 3D engine looks superb. I've got one of these on the bench just now but going for a regular build with aftermarket decals. Love your work here. Eng

stevehnz
A really nice build Julian, the new engine is a stunner, beautifully done. ( I went back & checked out your WiP). This was the first I'd heard of the MC-21 & PD-14, the plane appears to have good orders I wonder how many will be PD-14 powered? Steve.
