Can't remember exactly but im fairly sure it was either a Hummel or a Nashorn that took out one of the U.S armies first T26E3 (M26) at the last stages of the war

Nashorn.
I was looking at a pic of it today.
First one actually destroyed was by a Tiger I, which then backed up and got stuck on a rubble pile.

I remembered reading about this. It was a Nashorn.

To quote Wikipedia.

"On 6 March 1945, another T26E3 was knocked out in the town of Niehl near Cologne, by a rarely-seen Nashorn 88 mm tank destroyer, at a range of under 300 yd (270 m)."

Hope this helps.

I had to take a break, for a few days of work. July 4th set off a rash of COVID outbreaks.
Ive now resumed work on the Nashorn, with the main gun.
Cemented, but no clean up, yet.

Bloody injector marks 😬 ..Out of interest, is this quite an old Tamiya kit or a more recent model ?

I don’t think it’s that old.
Apparently their Hummel had a large screw head showing which is used for the gun mount.

Well...

I had a complete and utter disastrous day, yesterday, with an attempt at painting a vehicle.
I got the primer down on Friday. Pre-shade on Saturday.
Sat down to spend the day painting on Sunday morning.
Base coat, and then green and brown camouflage.
Not happy with the results/colors, I re-coated with the base, and tried again.

Still not happy, I stripped it all back to the primer coat with denatured alcohol.

About 6 hours of wasted time.

And this is supposed to be fun ? 🤣

Did you ever hear the story about the man seen stood next to a brick wall and banging his head against it at regular intervals?

The people asked him why he was banging his head on the wall.

"It's nice when it stops" the man replied.

Don't know, it sounded like it was going to turn into a song by Craig David for a bit there... ;)

Sorry... I got distracted by a Daimler Benz Panther Ausf. A belonging to Kampfgruppe Bake, at the Battle of Korsun, Cherkassy Pocket.

The vehicle is an early A, with the small grid DB Zimmerit.

That's that. Don't worry so hard, this can happen to anyone...

It's Dragon Panther?

Vytautas

No lol... Not Dragon.

It's the Takom one I'd started in the Panther GB, after I'd finished the late A and the late G.

This one has been sitting on the shelf of doom, but I need to try and sort out my airbrush work before tackling the Nashorn, as I've had a few paint disasters lately.

The Spit I tried failed miserably, and I've just stripped another JP IV after not being happy with the paint.

I'm not sure what changed, and what I'm doing wrong lol

Hi Daryl !!

Single colors aren’t the issue.
It’s what comes after 🤣

We shall see, later today.
