Seafire 1b Windshield

I'm contemplating buying the new KP Seafire 1b but just want to check what would be the correct windshield, with integral armoured glass or exterior mounted glass? The pic on the box shows it to have the internal version however one of the decal options, AC@C definitely had the external version fitted based upon a good photo in the Warpaint book on Merlin Seafires.

As the 1b was essentially a converted Vb I'd have thought many (most?) would have had the external glass fitment but not sure if this new KP kit has provision for both, if not then a replacement will have to be sought.

Regards

Colin.

I've just checked the sprue shots and it only comes with one (internal glazing) canopy and therefore not accurate for the example I'm looking to build so just a pity they couldn't have provided both types as they do provide the external version in some of their other kits.

It also looks as if it is the standard Spitfire Vb kit they already produce but with a new fuselage and arrestor hook so you'll end up with a spare standard fuselage as well.

The page link wont copy for some reason but the shots are on the super-hobby web site at www.super-hobby.co.uk, just put in Seafire into the search box and it will bring it up.

You'll also see that they have some of the new KP 72nd scale Tempests V's in stock as well, sooner than Hannants.

Colin.

Bad news is that although they have a .co.uk web site they're actually in Poland and postage is high, so I'll wait for Hannants to receive the Tempest.

I’ve seen a photo in a book I read recently I’m sure.  I haven’t read Touch Wood but Hamilton is well featured in the recent “High Performance “
