1/72 Airfix P-40B Warhawk

Recommended Posts

Fresh from the Less Than A Tenner GB:

I haven't been spending much time with the kits of late what with my existential crisis and the fact that I've been out and about a fair bit, but I've finally managed to drag this one over the line. It's the Airfix 1/72 Curtiss P-40B Warhawk, picked up from Amazon for the princely sum of £6.99 delivered, built entirely out of the box with the addition of a bit of Uschi thread for the antenna wires (which I'm pretty sure hasn't bumped it over the tenner!) It's a lovely little kit, builds like Lego. The sharp-eyes will not that the underwing roundel is slightly wonky and again on the underside I made bit of a mess of the port navigation light, but I can live with these, otherwise one of my better efforts, I didn't make an absolute hash of the canopy! As usual close-up photography is brutal but it sails through the three feet test!

Brief and unremarkable WIP here if you're interested. Thanks for looking in!

A nice job on that Tony, I've a couple of these in stock, (counts on fingers) make that 3 4 & I'll be rapt if they come up like this. I've had a look through the WiP thread for this & also your Existential one & can see a lot applicable to myself, I've learned to apply the TLAR rule (that looks about right) which works for me, I did like @ckw's  "Perfect is the enemy of good" quote, a good thing to remember. You've done a very workman like job on this, one to be pleased with. :)

Steve.

A mantra for life, if ever there was one. Thanks for the kind words Steve.

I love it!  This is a nice kit and I like the early-war scheme on US P-40B's.

Some may find it rather too plain, but I for unknown reasons I'm a fan.

Great work!
