Hi All,

For me the obvious choice for a French GB had to be a Mirage.

It looks like a nice kit.  I was tempted by the Tiger Meet decals. but I think I'm going with the EC 2/5 markings - much more French with the Fleur de Lis and the Croix de Lorraine.

Mind if I do the Tiger Meet scheme?

Not at all, I decided a while ago to do the EC 2/5 version - I'd like to see the Tiger Meet Scheme done, very much part of my airshow going era.

Thanks Dave. Slight problem here.  Opened up the kit and it’s missing quite a few parts. Very odd. Good luck with your build.

No it's definitely there Dave I can see it ! :coat:

Great stuff, inspired choice and let's hope this is the first of many of his iconic aircraft.

Bad news is that I am missing quite a few parts…good news is that I think I have enough of the bits to complete an airframe minus weapons….right I will stop highjacking your tread now Dave.  Will follow with interest.

Great choice and its a good kit but with a couple of things to watch out for.

The first are the nose parts, SH would have you add the nose parts to the completed fuselage but people have reported difficulty using this approach.

I took some material out of the rebate on the nose parts but added each of the respective hose halves to the fuselages, you can see that here:

20170815_200838 (1024x576)

Th second thing to watch out for is the wing, the leading edge needs sharpening up quite a bit but the biggest thing is the lower wing insert sits very proud:

Lower wing insert problem (662x619)

I tackled that this way:

Wing underside sanding comparison (1024x510)

None of this is too difficult but forewarned is forearmed!

Good luck with your build.

I love your model!

And I love Dassault's aircraft. Every one of them is a pleasure to look at.

Have fun!

Hi @Dave_R

You were going great guns when we last heard from you.

Have you finished it and forgot to tell us ?

Cheers Pat

Not forgotten nor finished, but it is a step closer to being finished.  I've got three GBs on the go at the moment and a couple more waiting to be started so sometimes one stalls for a bit.

I think it's ready for decals next.
