Delighted to see this one in the GB.

As @Wez said, I've lost count of the number of times I've read the book, yet still can't resist going back to it.

Best of luck with his one.

Cheers Pat

Some books

I started this build today by painting the side walls of the cockpit

The instrument panel

I placed Eduard  belts on the seat

And I also prepared the propeller

Bonsoir Patrice,

this looks like a good choice, and the sprues appear nicely engraved.

I only know the very old models of KP, and I still have a couple of them in the stash. The new ones do not seem to have anything in common with their forebears, which is maybe a good thing!

If I am not mistaken, this is not your first Tempest... Practice makes perfect.

Have a lot of fun.

Bonjour Good morning Jean

Thank you , your are right I built the Heller Tempest a few months ago for the Heller Gb ...

I have already built the KP P 51B Mustang and I can confirm that the new kits are better then the early kits ..

Concerning the kit it looks nice but so far I have just painted some parts I will tell you soon how it fits ...

Good evening

Today I placed the radiator , I glued the front and rear part of the fuselage together
I also glued the seat and  the stick on the flour , and I glued this on the right half fuselage with the instrument panel

Good evening

Today I placed the parts that represent the side walls of the landing gear bay on the lower wings
  210717075255523555.jpg

but I am not sure that it is the best way to do  ..

Then I glued together the upper and lower wings
 210717075254775271.jpg

I also closed the 2 fuselage halves
 210717075255729923.jpg

And I worked on the wheels I decided to sand the tyres because I was not pleased by the way they were represented

Good evening

This morning I placed the wings on the fuselage

On the left side it looks rather nice

But on the right side it is not so good  and I will have to use some putty

Looking good Patrice, I wonder if a small spreader under the cockpit would help with the wing to fuselage gaps. Maybe too late for you now, something for me to try when I get one of these.

Very quick work Patrice. Looks a good quick, I have one on order from my LHS, but I think more might be wanted.

I'm the same as Pat. I have three copies!

All looks very good Patrice. Have you decided which of Pierre Clostermann's Tempests you will build? [Edit! A re-read of your thread showed me I’d missed your earlier post! A very good choice!]

Good morning

I’ve read this book several times and it’s always a pleasure to read it again ...

I think that I will build his last aircraft the one wit the Cross of Lorraine on the nose ..

Best Regards

I have the same (or similar, there was confusion about the s/n) plane on my shelf, modelled many years ago using the Heller kit.
