'Goldfinger' '64 Convertible

This is the 1/32 Aurora kit (which is also from 1964), finished as Tilly Masterson's car from 'Goldfinger'.

It's built mostly OOB, but I did spend some extra time upgrading the wheels so that I could ditch the kit's horrible polythene tyres.

The build thread is here, if you would like to see more.

Hertz 1966 Shelby Mustang GT 350H

This is the 1/24 Revell model, built straight out of the box.

The build thread can be found here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235096269-hertz-shelby-mustang-the-original/

A second completion from me, this time it's the Revell '69 Boss 302 Mustang. An enjoyable kit to build straight out the box. I went a bit further on this one, adding details where I could.

The grill was opened up by scraping away the plastic on the back of the kit part. The engine bay and engine got wired and piped, hood pins added along with wiper assemblies. One door handle and a key hole got added. The other is somewhere in my shed, it flew off the end of my tweezers while fitting it. Use your imagination on the passenger side shots.

Paint is Tamiya TS spray yellow and there are a few coats of Tamiya clear on there as well. Tire decals are kit provided.

I made a new front windscreen along with thinning the kit frame right back. Ditto the frame for the rear quarter glass. There's a pair of sunglasses made out of thin wire on the centre console but attempts to photograph it failed. It appears in the build thread though.

Enough waffle, here's the finished model...

Finally done.  Added headlights and tail lights just for something extra, made the build a little different and I'm getting into soldering and basic electronics now to incorporate into future builds.  Turned out pretty well, but the LEDs are a little brighter than expected.

My third entry. I must get out a bit more...

The Round 2 re-release of the old AMT '67 Shelby GT350 fastback gets a look in tonight.

A stunner of a box that just made me want to buy it. I think it's just about perfect. Loose the bar code and licencing stuff and we would be talking All Time top ten box tops here.

Round 2 are rather handy at making a decent box to put these old kits in. The downside of the first class point of sale presentation is that the contents don't always live up to the promise of the box pictures. The GT350 is not bad, but it's not up to current standards of mould making.

My version copied the red car on the side of the box. Resale Red, what's not to like? Additions were limited to hood pins and wires, Cragar SS wheels, door handles and key holes and a new windscreen.

The paintjob is a bit on the heavy side, with more paint than I would have liked. It's Tamiya Italian Red with clear red over it for depth, it went on like glass. Subsequent handling by me has dulled that gloss down a bit and it's something to watch out for in the future.

Another view, this time using an old road test article from a period copy of Sports Car Graphic...

The side profile looses something with that hood scoop somehow adding a bit of a hunchback look to the car.

Topside looks fine...

And the Kat from AMT gives it his smile of approval...

My 1960's Hertz Car Rental Shelby GT350 pair are now ready for the Gallery.

Hertz bought 1000 of these back in the day and rented them out to anyone who had a licence and enough money. 50 White cars were built and also rented out.

Shelby must have been laughing all the way to the bank.

Here's how the pair turned out...

I'll be lying if I said it was all fun, a few problems turned up along the way that did try my patience somewhat. Now they are done, and I can sit back and enjoy having them, I'm more than happy to have built them.

Tony.

And yet another from me, my final entry for a most enjoyable GB.

Another slightly modified Mustang, lowered and running Dow 7 finished Halibrands. Tamiya paints, pearl white and metallic blue for the stripes. Classic sixties stuff.

Etched wipers and hood pins, resin cast door handles, 0.7 brass rivets used for door locks, inner and outer. Front and rear screes were replaced with home brew ones. I've a bit more practicing to do with these things but I'll get there in the end.

Here's Baby...

1968 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet

Slightly reminding Tasca Ford- sponsored Super Stock class drag racer, but not a model of it, more like a bad tribute build based on a GT model (which this actually is!)

Revell kit #85-4215, a build thread is here (my first build ever with nothing but acrylic paints (and Molotow pens) used - glad to get back to Humbrol enamels now!)

An out-of-the-box build except AMT front tires

You know, each group build needs its "how low can you go" build - and I don't mean ground clearance, but skills and patience and this is it

Anyhow, a few too sharp pictures taken in too good lighting, I really shouldn't... but this is Britmodeller, and you all understand

I was extremely glad I had the priviledge to host this one, first ever car themed Single Type Group Build in Britmodeller's existence, well done we all! Thanks to Enzo Matrix for running the circus 👍. V-P
