Ruston
This is my attempt at a 1/24 recreation of this car: https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23945/lot/88/ It’s built from the 1960s Monogram kit with some modifications and additional details to replace the more crude parts of the kit and better represent the full size car. WIP thread here: Thanks for looking
keefr22
That's a beautiful build of a beautiful car - more so given the ancient old kit you started with - great work! Personally speaking though, I don't think the photo background does such a good model any favours - but that's just me. Keith
Toftdale
Absolutely stunning work, even more impressive when you consider what the kit was like to start with. So many little (and large) improvements, but the rear grill is the stand out piece for me. - Andy
Allan31
I built that years ago and have another in the stash. Great job on reworking that olde plastic.

nearsightedjohn
Magnificent job on this ancient kit! I think the wheels that you used from the Fujimi 356 kit were key to helping make this come out looking like a more recently tooled kit. I love those wheels, too bad these 356 kits have sky-rocketed so much in price lately. If I could send a “wish list” to the folks at Tamiya-gawa-jimi for more 1/24 auto subjects, this 904 and a 910 would be near the top of the list. Much thanks for your efforts on the WIP postings as well as posting this RFI.
Ruston
Thanks for the comments all. It wasn’t the quick build I thought it was going to be when I started but worth the effort and I learnt a lot in the process. I’m going to build something a little more straightforward and out the box for my next model though! Keith, I do agree on the background, it certainly looks like a location I’d not want to park the full size one. I managed to ruin my other backdrop by exposing half of it to the sun causing severe fading. I’ll have to find something else for future photo shoots.
bigbadbadge
Oh man this looks gorgeous, your model is wonderful, the Carrera GTS badges look awesome as do your wheels too they look spot on. Great job on this old kit. Love it. Chris

oldman
i remember this car well , i had the 1/32 scale slot car . Both the 1/24 and 1/32 were built to be slot cars in principle . This was around the mid sixties when slot cars were at their max . Monogram made lola's , Ferrari's and a Ford GT40 as well . They were fast but by the end of the day you lost most of the bodyparts since they were half model kit half slot . I can remember the price of my Lola MK6 slot car kit . 5 pounds sterling .Hamleys regent street london maybe 1966 .
