I hope A&A Models 1/72nd Beechcraft 200 Super King Air kit sells well, so they release more versions of the Beechcraft and other similar aircraft.

I hope they allow for these options:

- early (single large) and later (smaller twin) ventral fins

- large and small port-side doors

- early (3 blade) and later (4 blade) propellers

- standard wingtips and later upswept winglets

Indeed. There are many many possible mods (raisbeck?  blackhawk?)..  variations of nose intakes, main gear, main gear doors, engine air intakes, nacelle wing lockers, etc, so will be interesting to see which variant(s) they include OOB.

Whatever they do, at least there will be a nice basis (hopefully) for some scratchbuilding and / or aftermarket mods..

I have the Mach 2 release of this airplane.  It is rough.  Maybe I will send it to eBay.   This new release by AA looks promising.

Two types of propellers and SWEDES!!!

I think that it is just showing you the decal placement on the front and the back of the propellers, not that there are two prop types.

Cheers,

Hoops

Glad I have this on preorder, it looks promising. Do you get a free cat as well? Wilf,  our current master will not like that.

- large and small port-side doors

- early (3 blade) and later (4 blade) propellers

- standard wingtips and later upswept winglets

Everything you have listed here with the exception of the winglets, is actually an optional STC embodied at build even on a brand new B200GT (King Air 250).

The ventral fins are from Raisbeck are known as DABS - Dual aft body strakes. The original fin is cut back, and these are riveted in in two sections - the main part under the rear fuselage and the tips (or rabbit ears) attached to the tailcone. Lots of advantages to these, but the main one is removal of the altitude restriction with the yaw damper inop.

The Cargo door variations are generally from Avcon - either a small door side hinged aft of the standard door, twin side hinged wider doors or the most popular large cargo door with airstair (cargo door opens upwards, the pax door  open downwards with the steps.

4 bladed Hartzell props are also part of the Raisbeck kit. The GT's come with a later 4 bladed composite prop which is part of the Raisbeck Epic package.

The GT winglets come from BLR, and are factory fitted - or obviously can be fitted under STC to earlier BB serial King Airs.

For reference, the RAF B200's only had the 4 bladed Hartzell props - the rest of the modifications carried out were mainly avionic, however there was a 3rd crew position with a Decrane observer seat and oxygen mask used by the instructors. Although, if anyone is building it cowlings off there is also a very handy compressor drain tube which was added to make engine desal washes a lot easier.
