Has anyone used Plaza Japan for UK purchases?

I'm just curious to find out if and how anyone has used Plaza Japan.

 

There's a couple of kits I've seen which come to less than £20, plus postage. Are there any pitfalls?

The declared value was around 18 dollars, and they did not add shipping to the lable. So I had no extra charges.

Nope. I ordered a Tamiya kit from them, which was just over £21. Shipping was Economy air and cost £10. I ordered 25th June and received today. No import duty, taxes, or anything else.

Ordered six Tamiya 1/72 aircraft kits from them and including shipping came to less than ordering three from a UK supplier. I had no issues with import duty (may have been lucky!). I'd have no qualms about ordering from them again, but it needs to be quite a big order to make it worthwhile.

I have just received a package from Plaza Japan and not paid any extra. I did ask them last year what they were going to do about the VAT situation and they said they would comply.

 

Great company to deal with and you get an extra gift.
