bootneck
Hello all, I am building a Matador refueller and would like advice on this box. What is it and is it rectangular or rounded edges? cheers, Mike
Kingsman
That's something found only on the petrol-engined versions. The diesels didn't have it. Inside the screen is an Autovac. This is a gravity feed tank and mechanism for the carburettor used instead of a rotary fuel pump. What you're seeing is a screen around the mechanism, not strictly a box. It is rounded and open at the top and bottom. Cut-away view of one. Here's a picture of a nice real one with the top off. Inside the screen on the front of your Matador will be something very much like this. 2
Whitewolf
Like the pic, refuelling a very famous Lanc, R5868 PO-S - S for Sugar.
noelh
This is what I like about this forum. Someone asks what is in all honesty a rather obscure question. But straight away someone knew the answer and had pictures. Well of course Das Abteilung is very knowledgeable.
