Duxford Flying Days "Behind the Scenes" July 2021

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone

I spent today at Duxford for the latest "Flying Day". I'm not sure why they called it "Behind the Scenes". The flying was delayed by one hour due to the low cloud base, but it was worth waiting for!

The light was tricky, to say the least!

Here is a flavour of the day (excuse the AFVs, but they were good fun to watch!)

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Colin. You would have loved the red and white Chipmunk doing multiple touch and gos in the morning!

Some lovely angles there. I can't help but notice how low some of the pilots are in the fighters' cockpits. Not the easiest view when on the ground!

Thanks for the kind words, Latinbear. I recently sat in the IWM Spitfire as a birthday treat and can attest to how low down the pilot seat was, although I'm sure that it must be possible to raise it!
