AliGauld
I wasn't going to attempt a WIP with this one as it was meant to be a background build during my Lysander sojourn but Mark asked if I would butcher this one in public. So here goes. I had already cut plastic this morning and glue and paint have been applied. Some Luftwaffe seatbelts to add. It's not a fighter but... it'll add a bit of interest. The bits that have been done so far. Parts primed with Tamiya Neutral Grey and painted with Colourcoats RLM 02. IP with Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black The ejection pin marks on the wings have sanded out nicely. The wings went together really nicely. and @2996 Victor you are entirely to blame for this. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair 12
2996 Victor
Is it fitting that I've got the first chair? Great start, Alistair, and an unusual take on the subject, too. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one goes together! 31 minutes ago, AliGauld said: you are entirely to blame for this. Fair enough, mate, I'll take full responsibility I've got previous, you know! Cheers, Mark 1

bigbadbadge
This looks interesting especially as it has some decent markings rather than those horrid crosses and some yellow too. Will tag along if okay. Great start Chris

AliGauld
Cockpit done. Fuselage joined up and empennage fitted. It all went together really nicely, but one word of warning for anyone building this kit. Don't bother with the IP transfer it's hugely oversize bears no relation to the kit part and can't be seen when in situ. I just gave mine a dry brush to highlight the dial edges and stuck it in. Still got some flash to deal with but that'll be in the next episode "The One with the Glass Bits" Thanks for looking Cheers, Alistair
AdrianMF
Nice work. This is a rebox of the Heller kit - much better than the Airfix version. Regards, Adrian 1

Dr. Quack
You're churning them out Ali, with no loss of quality I might add. A 1/72 Storch - watch out for eye strain mate! Brilliant choice of scheme btw. Q

dnl42
This is coming along nicely! I agree, this is a better scheme. 47 minutes ago, AliGauld said: I'm finding out how interesting it is to use an optivisor with varifocals. 😆 I find progressives quite ill suited to an OptiVISOR. I use my single-lens "computer" glasses instead.

I only have a Varifocal pair as I need them for work but I'm getting used to it and I can adjust the angle of the magnifier until it all works. bigbadbadge
Interior Looking good Alistair, yes I suppose the wing will obscure the IP. The fuselage looks to have gone together well. I didn't realise it was a rebox of a Heller kit. Just got my new Optivisor as old one falling apart but would not be without one now as wouldn't be able to see the fine details let alone paint them.🤪 Great work Chris 1
dnl42
FWIW, OptiVISOR repair parts are available; I've replaced a couple of the parts over the years. #5 is my primary lens plate, but I have a #10 for those very small--what was I thinking of--bits...

With all that canopy and the high wing it's going to be invisible. I'm struggling to do anything model related without the Optivisor now. Once you start using it you can't stop. 17 hours ago, dnl42 said: FWIW, OptiVISOR repair parts are available; I've replaced a couple of the parts over the years. #5 is my primary lens plate, but I have a #10 for those very small--what was I thinking of--bits... AliGauld
Wee update, This took about 5 hours to complete as it comes in 6 separate parts. I'll fit this once the glue is completely cured and I've cleaned up the rear of the cockpit space Oh and I noticed that the tailplane slat was squint so that's been fixed as well. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
Sandeha Lynch
If you can ignore the uniforms and insignia for a moment, I have to admit the take off of a stork was very impressive:
