Hi 

 

Does anyone know if the drawings for the Scimitar are held by a museum such as Solent Sky or the FAA museum? I know the RAF Museum have some pre-1950 Supermarine drawings.

They are more likely to be held by BAE SYSTEMS, they have a lot of original engineering drawings and they were formed following the merger of many UK aerospace companies.

Will,

Dare I suggest you contact the Musems directly?

 

I'm not trying to be funny. it just struck me that that direct approach might give a quicker answer that possibly several 'third party' answers!

If you find the drawings, ask if Airfix has recently borrowed them!

I have done so on several occasions with varying degrees of success, International Helocopter Museum, Woodford museum, Leonardos' and East Kirby. Sometimes they just do not have the documentation, sometimes they do not even reply and sometimes you get lucky but always worth a try.
