theplasticsurgeon
Joining you with the recent Airfix Beaufort. A lockdown purchase from my local model shop. Parts, to which a lot of interior green has just been applied. Planning to build this option. And my only previous Beaufort, this Encore model, built 1994.

Rabbit Leader
You’re gonna love this kit Tim, take your time with it and get it right. The Encore build looks great too and a comparison photograph of the two models sitting side by side will highlight what great work Airfix has done to capture the beautiful lines of the Beaufort. Cheers.. Dave
theplasticsurgeon
Cockpit, and it's been a pleasure to build. A pair photo just for @Rabbit Leader can be arranged. . . as can a full group photo of Blenheims and Beaufighters. 4
jackroadkill
This kit is so nice (I have a feeling I may have mentioned this before!) and it's great to see plenty of them being built. I hope you enjoy your build as much as I did mine. 1
theplasticsurgeon
Fuselage interior, pity that most of it won't be visible. And looking like a Beaufort.
rob85
Your light years ahead of me, looks great. I’m really loving this kit so far! Rob
Rabbit Leader
You’re right about not seeing much of the inside, however that glazed nose section let’s a lot of light in and is very visible once fully assembled. Looks great so far. Cheers.. Dave
theplasticsurgeon
Engines finally fitted. That and the cowlings, far too complicated for their own good. My props will have a 1mm shaft right through the engines and rear bulkhead, and be removeable. But persevered, and finally able to start airbrushing, Revell 59 in this case. A little more green that the Humbrol equivalent - but was available on my bench.
theplasticsurgeon
Nose glazing installed. Got to say that I had to remove and refit the instrument panel, to make it all fit.

theplasticsurgeon
Masked, using my method of scaling-copying the colour diagrams. Then airbrushed Humbrol 163 Green.

theplasticsurgeon
Completion of all the stencil decals. Then framed the canopy. Frames applied Timstyle. To the nose and canopy, and the turret.
theplasticsurgeon
Props fitted, mine are removeable, modified with long spindles. Also all the aerials, exhausts and other fittings. Just the undercarriage and nav lights left.
jackroadkill
She's looking grand! Really nice to see more Beauforts being built. How have you found the build post-cockpit completion?
theplasticsurgeon
Undercarriage and weapons fitted. And as a whistle whetter. Completion photos tomorrow.
theplasticsurgeon
Declaring completion. I will post photos of this with the Encore model - but that requires a loft sortie.

theplasticsurgeon
As promised in the chat, a photo with the Encore Beaufort. There's just no comparison, Airfix has it hands-down. And that's me signing off from this GB. Enjoy.

Rabbit Leader
Well done Tim, that’s turned out into a cracking Beaufort and nice to see how good it looks in comparison to the ‘other’ classic Beaufort kit which dates back to 1963. So glad the Airfix designers got this one right. Cheers and well modelled.. Dave 1
