ivan-o
Hi guys, This is my next project it is the very old Leopard from Revell/Italerie, The kit was an attic find that I got off ebay, Legend conversion kit and Bronco AS90 tracks are being used. The tracks are the right type for this Leopard. If this is of any interest I will put up the WIP cheers Ivan

ivan-o
Thanks Roger, it’s going to be OOB with the conversion kit😀no cutting or scratch building 👍
ivan-o
Just a bit of waffle before I start, although this kit is nearly 40 yrs old it still stands up to the Meng kit it many ways! There is a review on the Leopard Club site that goes through the pro,s and conn,s of both kits.😀 I have started with a bit of track bashing and to say this is time consuming is an understatement🙄 These are the parts for one link! One run done but I think I might cheat on the next side as the top will be under the side skirts.😉 cheers Ivan
ivan-o
Some done today on the running gear,it’s supposed to have working suspension but the plastic seems much to hard for it to work. All the detail are parts to put on not moulded. that’s all for now obviously the other side is the same😉 cheers Ivan
Hamden
Nice start, don't envy you the track bashing though! Track does look good built up Stay safe Roger
ivan-o
Hi, just some minor work on the hull at the moment, what passed for anti slip on the front of the hull has been replaced and the tropical grill put in,this bit comes with the Meng kit but luckily enough my nephew has a 3D printer 😀👍(mmm what else do I need) before! after! and the grill that’s all for now cheers, Ivan

ivan-o
Rights, some more done on the hull sides, tool boxes and the pads for laser sensors I believe they are. cheers , Ivan
ivan-o
Hi guys, After all this heat I have managed a bit more etch work, rear mud flaps on😀 hopefully a bit more soon, Ivan
Terry1954
Great thread which I will follow with some interest. I have two of these in the stash, along with a Meng 1 A5 (cast turret and bolted on armor) and a C2 Mexus. As you rightly suggest they stand up to the very latest releases from Meng/Takom very well for their age. My two Italeri Leopards are destined to become one Danish 1A5DK (welded Turret) and open Australian AS1 (welded turret), using respective add on conversion sets. You have made a brilliant start. ivan-o
Hi, a bit more done today on the glacis plate, a mix of the kit parts and from the conversion kit. the lip of the mud flaps has been removed, strengthening plates put on and all the bits for engineer attachments from the Legend kit used. cheers Ivan
ivan-o
Hi, update time😀 I have had to do a bit of surgery on the back mud flaps! The ‘wings’ were supposed to fold and fit down the hull but wouldn’t fit so off they came and plastic used instead. Tracks and running gear done. Those Bronco tracks were a right pain and I have unashamedly cut them short as you won’t see them under the skirts😉 and now the shortened tracks👍 its starting to come together now BUT I won’t be doing those tracks again😀 cheers Ivan
Bullbasket
Coming along OK Ivan, despite those tracks. I know what you mean though. Once bitten......... John.

Just added the comparison shot🙄 cheers, Ivan
ivan-o
Hi, another long overdue update this build seems to be talking forever😀 some work on the top of the turret using the conversion parts and a bit of scratch for the commander’s sight and the ring behind the loaders hatch. turret sides and basket next(eventually😉) cheers Ivan
