ivan-o
Thanks guys for your comments and likes👍As usual it has taken longer than it should but the end is in sight. First coat of primer on and the brass for the basket next😀 probably have a stab at this later. cheers Ivan
echen
Never having done PE myself that lot looks very tricky.
Hamden
Looking really good in primer. Hope the PE goes well for you Stay safe Roger
ivan-o
Hi, Had a run at the PE and it wasn’t to bad at all😉 in progress the only thing here is that that the mesh shouldn’t have gone in till the bottom mesh is in despite what the instructions say! For some reason only known to Legend the middle frame is bigger than the end ones but hay ho it’s done😀 cheers Ivan
Jasper dog
Lovely job on the pe basket Ivan, I always hate the stuff yet you've made it look easy! Darryl

Darryl TBF mate it wasn’t at all hard, every frame had three layers but once they were lined up it was ok.👍 Ivan
ivan-o
Basket done and fitted😀 See about some paint now I suppose , cheers, Ivan
echen
Looking good. The Leopard looks really "fit for purpose" with all the sloping armour and powerful looking armament. Can I ask what the patterned object is on the front armour in front of the drivers hatch? Edited October 2, 2021 by echen
ivan-o
Hi echen i stand to corrected but I believe they are track grousers. 1
ivan-o
First bit of paint on the beast😀 I got the AK interactive AUS Cam paint set but TBH don’t bother with it! I have had to add a good bit of olive drab to the green and the black is almost blue😡 cheers Ivan

ivan-o
Hi guys, Right here is a VERY rough first paint😏 As mentioned before do not waste your money on the AK Auscam set tbh a bit brutal it’s rubbish! I should be getting a new compressor tomorrow so hopefully I will regain control of the paint in my brush😀 cheers Ivan
ivan-o
Well ,you know when you want to swear and you can’t?😡 Brand new Tamiya Matt varnish, shaken and stirred! This going to have to go on the shelf for a while😟 Ivan 1
Dads203
Give it a blast of satin varnish, that will rid you of the frosting. I only use the Mig Ammo Matt varnish as it’s the only one I have tried which doesn’t do what you have experienced.
ivan-o
Righto mate I will give that a go👍

I sympathize with you. How did it happen? Did you dilute the varnish? did you use an airbrush or paint with a brush? I use Tamiya varnish, but this has never happened... Lazy Modeller
Never had that type of thing with tammy. Did you really mixed well? I usually use a cheap electric mixer used mainly for Milk... That could be the beginning of a winter camo if that's an option. Good luck. Cheers LM
Geo1966
Never tried brush painting it, but VMS varnish is excellent when sprayed. Even Nightshift recommends it 🙂 George
ivan-o
Quick update, managed to scrape it off with a blade👍 back to the painting stage though🙄 isn’t modeling fun?😀 Ivan 2
Stef N.
That's a kick in the proverbials but at least it is salvageable. All the best in the re-painting stage.👍
Michael Powell
Try VMS clean slate, I’ve rescued a couple of spraying mishaps with it, it’s great stuff
Jasper dog
Bugger! Sorry Ivan that's a real pain, I've seen some varnish do similar but nothing as extreme as you've had. Dan's right, in some instances a blast with a gloss coat will sort it but not sure in such extreme cases. Being super lazy I just use rattle can, bad form I know but so far 🤞I've been ok. Sure with a deep breath and a little fettling it'll turn out great. Good luck Darryl
