Just got the outer intakes, jet pipe outers and missiles and the priming can start. Its a lovely kit. I thought the ZM kit was nice, but this is another leap ahead.

I waited to start masking thr model not a fan of the kit provided mask .  Spruebrothers started carrying a new lne of mask by the name of ASK  which gives You intrior and exterior mask or clear parts and wheels . Also need to decide on scheme. f111guru
Brian, Sorry I missed the start of this. It's been a busy last month and a half or so. Went on a long awaiting vacation. Â Tamiya has done a wonderful job on creating the phantom in 48th scale. I did the box art phantom with a Hasegawa kit some 30 or more years ago. In that same scheme. You are progressing along famously. Looking great. Lots and lots of detail. One question. Is there a representation of an AERO-27 bomb rack on the plate that will cover the section between the engines? Just wondering. Would be easy to make if one would want to put a mer on the centerline. Also like how Tamiys placed the small fin spring panels attached to the fins on the aft of the centerline tank. Â Great work on your phanrom All The Best, Ron VanDerwarker
F-104 nut
Here is a update finally . I used the Ammo Mig Maskng Putty to do the de marcation between the upper and lower colors . Topside has been sprayed with AK Real colors Light Gull Grey. I had couple of areas taht i had to fix. Then i sprayed those areas and the verticals stabs with Mrbase white 1000 whitee. Next to spray the AK rear aft section of the trailing area  color and the Tamiya LP Gloss White on the horizontal stabs . 548AB7BB-B8C3-4553-B6D1-7C564A7C6822 by b007scott, on Flickr 768FD618-CF3B-4C91-B34D-B12710C2E72E by b007scott, on Flickr 3FA48608-1A45-426D-945B-189D060912A5 by b007scott, on Flickr 84735AA9-B2C5-4E29-84A8-56F8898A82A7 by b007scott, on Flickr 0D8F1B18-E10E-462F-B8B6-A223315A798D by b007scott, on Flickr 8EECEF45-8155-4ABB-A9FE-367FBC25C687 by b007scott, on Flickr 862A513D-36BF-4083-A839-EF56965EE3C1 by b007scott, on Flickr B8172DBE-4B6A-449C-9907-1608EC3EC038 by b007scott, on Flickr 8C9550FC-A6B3-4EEC-9B8E-FC92A5DC2973 by b007scott, on Flickr A74AB12E-0AD4-46EE-AEBE-D5956E84FF71 by b007scott, on Flickr Brian
f111guru
Fantastic looking aircraft with the paint just going on. Shows the details quite nicely. Tamiya has done a great job of producing a kit with lots of details that other companies don't show. Noticed the ejector feet on the AERO-7 missile launchers. Nobody has done those before. Also the ejector cartridge panels are etched in with great detail. I may have to get one of these. I would prefer a D model. Â I've never used the putty to outline a wavy paint line. Had always used an airbrush with the finest tip and needle and a slight more thinned base paint. Â Brian your doing this kit justice. Looking forward to some more updates. Â All The Best, Ron VanDerwarker 1
