Very interesting video, Tony! Thanks so much for sharing it! Had no idea how the box fins worked- pretty wizard! BTW, pardon my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the air vane?

I've always understood it was to stabilize the torpedo when released higher(?) & faster than from biplanes like the Swordfish, ie by the likes of Beauforts, Beaufighters etc, ensuring it entered the water in the correct orientation. I think.
