Bullbasket
We had a hum dinger of a storm last Wednesday/Thursday. So at 01.30 in the morning, swmbo and I were sipping Typhoo on the veranda watching the storm. It was a true light show and went on for a couple of hours. I had my camera with me and took these shots. The first shows that it was pitch dark, although you can just see my old Mondeo sitting out there. The next two are when the lightning flashed. The mesh in the third one is because they were taken through a fly screen. It's like broad daylight. We had another storm this afternoon, and we have another forecast for tonight. John Tapsell
I remember an awesome, if scary, drive to catch an early ferry from St Malo in 2002. It was early November and we left at around 4am in the morning to drive north from near Lorient. For much of the journey we drove through the most spectacular thunderstorm - very little rain but huge lightning displays that lit up the surrounding countryside. I have never seen the like of it before or since.
