John Masters
I have been looking forward to the new tool from AZ for a while and this one seems right for the first. I also hope it will serve as a better example of a German Bf-109 and grace my self with more style than clunky Berta. Nice box art... The profile... The sprue... Decals... --John

John Masters
The new tooling is pretty nice. Crisp, well-fitted, nicely engineered. In many ways the same kit as all the others, but with a fresher feel. They seem to have re-engineered out some of the seemingly random aspects, which I cannot really put my finger on. I guess it's just a more precise kit. Good all around. I am going to catch up with the other 109 build so I can prime and paint them with about the same time. Just easier. Cockpit, wings assembly...nicely done, no surprises. A closeup of the seat with the decal harnesses. Very nice. --John
John Masters
Nice little bits of detail here.... So far this morning. I am off to a neighbouring island today for my second round of Pfizer. --John
John Masters
This is all looking really good so far. A test fit of the wing-to-fuselage reveals nary a gap. Really nice. Very happy with that. I am wondering what those gaps are in the nose? --John

They stop after the “E” and seem to have been on all early models that used the Diesel Jumo’s. Edited June 18, 2021 by Corsairfoxfouruncle

Hewy
Looks like the beginnings of a jungle crash diorama that john, maybe bit of smoke coming out of the foliage and its a winner, nice job on the 109s btw

John Masters
The Light Blue RLM 65 is on the underside and most pf the fuselage. I will have to be very careful with he rest...the splotchy bits of grey and violet I mean. I might tackle the splinter camo on the wings first. --John

modelling minion
This is looking really nice John, gone together a lot easier than your earlier kit. Nice choice of scheme too, I like the white nose.

John Masters
Speaking of white bots. I probably should have pointed the splinter camo first, then all the white. Hmmm...In either case a very interesting masking sequence--note the leading edges...The white paint is Vallejo White Primer from a can. Very nice. Looking ghostly... Mask off! Not bad. A bit of touch-up required, but not much. Masked again for the splinter. Phew! --John
Corsairfoxfouruncle
A Lot of work but well worth it in the end. I wasn't aware the leading edges on this scheme were white. Must make a note of this for a possible future build as I have decals in 1/48. Well done on this one John.

So....do some more research to confirm.
John Masters
RLM71 goes on. It's currently 21:50 and 35C in my flat. Plays havoc with th airbrush, but this seemed to be alright. Stuff dries really fast. And today I used the same technique to mask and prime the kitchen in the house I am renovating. No airbrush though. And the big reveal on the Emil... Decal time folks. --John 4
modelling minion
Very nice work John, both on your Emil and your kitchen. You can keep your 35 degrees at 10pm though, struggle to sleep when its around 20!
