CedB
Just a holding post from me for now - I have some other things to finish first. When's the end date? October? Should be plenty of time (famous last words). Here she is: £10 eh? Must have bought it at a show. In the box is a sealed bag: Usually a good sign, but I don't think it's an Airfix bag. Some yellowed transfers, now stuck in the window: I've had a quick search for replacement decals but no luck - hopefully the kit ones will 'sun out'. The instructions: The mandatory shots of the part trees: Rivets, count 'em! Bit sparse? That's because the other parts are loose in the bag: One of the props is damaged but I found the blade: Hopefully the rest is there Quick check of the fit: Par for the course, if not a bit better. See that shiny bit behind my tape? Someone else's tape. Not unopened then. Oh well. There's a space on the ceiling waiting for her next to her, er, Mum? The Valom Bombay build some time ago: I have a few to finish before I start this so please amuse yourselves for a while…
Jinxman
Rivet heaven - loved this kit as a kid!
Heather Kay
That box art is crying out to replicated as a diorama. There’s lots of lovely 1/76th scale period cars available from Oxford Diecast that would look great. Still, flying in formation with Mother is probably more suitable. 3 1
stevej60
Nice to see this one get an airing Ced,rivet heaven as per most Airfix kits of this vintage!

Muddyf
Ohh! I have one as a long-term build in the stash. A CedB build will definitely be an inspiration! For the decals, mine have been a in the window for an entire summer, no unyellowing (is that a word?!!) and no luck with finding Silver City decals either. 1

I fell into that trap trying to save some transfers.

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Oddly enough as an American I have a soft spot for these Aircraft. Going to follow along as its a Ced build anyways.
stevehnz
Count me in, I'll be keen to see what I'm missing out on since I went 1/144 for postwar war stuff this big. Still got mine to move on when I get around to it. Steve.
CedB
Thanks Jinxman, Steve, Rog, Muddyf, Dennis and Steve It's going to be a while until I start 'in anger' so please bear with me. 19 hours ago, Heather Kay said: That box art is crying out to replicated as a diorama. I know, so tempting… there's a ramp in the kit too. I don't think I have room though so on the ceiling it'll have to be.

Tomjw
This brings back memories of when I had this kit as a child. Looking forward to seeing it built to modern standards. Cheers, Tom
Terry1954
Aha, another Ced build and I'm actually on page one. This one looks like a good nostalgic trip. I remember building one of these as a lad and it seemed so big and bulky. Cheers Terry
Rabbit Leader
Cant say I’ve ever participated in a GB alongside ‘Sir Ced’, so allow me to introduce my humble self to BM’s esteemed royalty and I look forward to seeing what you can conjure up with this classic of Airfix kits. Heathers suggestion to incorporate some vehicles is rather tempting and something I might even consider should mine ever reach the modelling bench. Cheers and best of luck.. Dave.

The Spadgent
For a brief moment I thought I’d found you in a GB. Alas. I shall wait with baited breath Mr B. Looks like a little winner this one. I’m with you when you start. All the best. Johnny. 😃
