main differences between hudson marks ?

Hi

    I have been searching on the net as I have no Hudson books and can't find the answer

 

  So can anyone tell me ? 

 

   What is the main differences between the mark I onwards thro to and including the mark VI

 

  Just engines and cowlings ?

Mark I production order, 200 RAF, then 50+50 RAAF then 50 RAF.  Plus 1 extra for the RAF.

 

RAF
Hudson I, original version, Wright Cyclone R-1820 G 102A engines, 2 position propellers
Hudson II, constant speed propellers
Hudson III, Wright Cyclone R-1820 G 205A engines. (aircraft 152 onwards, RAF serial V9066 onwards, had greater fuel capacity)
Hudson IIIA, (USAAF A-29, lend lease)
Hudson IV (or IVA) Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp R-1830 S3CG, RAAF order taken over in the second half of 1940. (RAAF mark I or II)
Hudson V Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp S3C4G, non lend lease order
Hudson VI Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp (USAAF A-28, lend lease)

 

RAAF
Hudson I, original version, Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp engines R-1830 S3CG, 2 position propellers (RAF mark IV/IVA)
Hudson II, constant speed propellers
(Some references suggest all were called mark II, others mark I, by the RAAF, the above follows Stuart Wilson's listing.)

A-29 Wright Cyclone R-1820-87 engines
A-29A interior convertible for troop carrying
AT-18 gunnery trainer version of A-29, Martin dorsal turret.

USAAF version notes
A-28/Hudson IV, same as Lockheed Hudson 414-08 with R-1830-45 engines.  US versions used open cockpit with 1 0.50 cal gun in place of Boulton Paul Turret.  De icer boots, fowler flaps.
A-28A Same as A-28 with change to R-1830-67 engines and fuel increase, some modified from A-29 by engine change.
A-29A, B, Hudson III.  Originally designated C-63, reclassified as Attack because equipment identical to A-28 except engines.  Powered by R-1820-87 engines, A-29A fitted as troop transports, A-29B equipped for aerial mapping.

A-29B can be reconverted to bombardment type.  Photo equipment, 3 cameras installed in trimetrogon mount in bombardier's compartment and one K-17 camera in rear of cabin centered over forward portion of gun tunnel.
