exdraken Posted June 15, 2021 Share Posted June 15, 2021 I still wonder why the Su-17 and MiG-27s were so drastically and quickly dumped after the Soviet Unions collapse... of course they had way too many costly fighterbombers... but this "twin engined only" doctrine also sounds a bit strange! the more modern MiG-27 had quite some precision attack capabilities and development potential it seems! being single seat probably did not help a lot though.....
