1/72 F-15E Strike Eagle 4th Wing's 75th Anniversary

Recommended Posts

Hello modellers,

i finally finished this bird.

The kit ist the Great Wall Hobby F-15E with Aires ACES II ejection seats and PJ production pilots. Further addons used are an Eduard Sniper ATP, AIM-120 training missile and a modified ACMI pod from Hasegawa.

But the real highlight is the awesome DXM decal sheet, it isn't perfect but very very good.

Let's start the show:

The model is among the most impressive I've seen here at Britmodeler.com. Where did you find the clear acrylic rods and did you have them bent for you or did you do that yourself? If you did it, I'd be most pleased to learn how you did it.

Thank you for the likes and comments, much appreciate.

@SAT69

These are 6mm acrylic rods. You can find them f.e. on ebay, amazon...

I bought mine from amazon and cut them with a fine saw (same for resin) to 25cm each. To bend, you need some heat from hairdryer, hot water or something like this. I heat them with an oven to 160°-180° celsius and bend both around a cup to the same shape. The rods are not fixed yet, so you can simply change the position and angle of the jet.

ps: sorry for the bad english grammar

Thank you for the information and you don't need to apologize for the grammar. You communicate very effectively.

Nice! Funny enough I've recently brought the decals for this in 1/48 ...

Attention! The DXM instructions aren't 100% correct compared to the real plane. I recognized this to late, my fault.

The "wings" must be closer to the center and some stencils are different or missing. So be careful and check your references if you want it "perfect".

@all

Thanks again for your nice comments.
