Cadillac Le Monstre 1:12 scratch

Recommended Posts

Thank you all....
Today, full of energy, I unmasked the main pontoon and sprayed the first layer of white ... Well, as I was in caliber, I sprayed everything in white and in two layers, in the photos only one part with one ... the others are already drying ...

The first decal has also been added

Thanks to all... :)

And since I gained a little more time unplanned, I used it to make and put together details.
Rear brake and reversing lamps, all fitted. I also noticed one detail, I had to ... :) The strap of the holder is fixed with three brass rivets, the screwdrivers have resin handles ...

Stunning work as always Renek.

May I ask...box for transportation...where's it going?

Ron

Thanks :)

It doesn't go anywhere if I build such a model, I think it deserves a box. I go to model competitions a few times a year and the transport box is suitable.
The graphics are the work of my wife :)

This it's all just stunning work. :worthy:

It's good that you have the occasional photo with something to remind us you're not building a full size vehicle.

And that box deserves its own WIP. Brava!

Really starting to come together well now - it's amazing what a difference a coat of paint can make too. Looks as though your wife is pretty talented as well.

Thank you, my wife is pleased :)

Nice progress, the more I see of this kit the more I seem to think that the bodywork designer was more into designing boats :)

Love the travel boxes by the way

Thanks :) Well, it wasn't ships but planes.
A Grumman Aircraft engineer Howard Weinman on Long Island had contributed the body design.

Up....

I am gradually going through the painting and decals and some other details have been added, which will end up in the bowels of the car....

Superb work Renek! The black and white associated with the US flag makes me think of a spacecraft! To be fair the car does look fairly futuristic. And I've been reading far too many books on the Apollo space program...☺️

Very envious of your scratch building skills. Keep it up.

Thank you very much, she is actually dark blue, not black :)
I also went through my cosmic fever :)

Today I sanded 6,000 underwater and Corse lightly polished the front. The intention was ... not to shine too much, to be nicely leveled, to keep minor scratches. I will want to have the whole thing "slightly used" as if I had raced with it :)
And then I said to myself that I would try the screws as well ... The dark ones had to be repainted, because they "shone" too much ...
Now it's the hood and maybe the next step ...
