Welcome and rules!

Recommended Posts

Welcome one and all to the Bristol Aeroplane Company GB. This started out as a Bristol twins group build but evolved to include anything made by BAC, which turns out is quite a lot! It would appear there is more to things than just the RAF in World War 2, who knew!

so please join in and enjoy everyone builds and help remember everything this great aviation company achieved!

RULES:

all builds must be within the 25% rule for all GB’s, if you are worried that your build is over the 25% or close to it give me a shout.

simple, ANYTHING designed and built by BAC at any time the company has existed. This could be the well known beaufighter and Beauforts or something a bit more rare like the Brabazon or the Type 72 Racer.

There are going to be some exceptions especially with aircraft built during wartime where orders were farmed out to other manufacturers however as long as the aircraft or item you want to build was designed and built by BAC then it’s still valid. E.g. if you wanted to build a Bristol Beaufighter, but your particular aircraft was built under licence in Australia or by the Manchester based Fairey plant, then that’s ok as the beaufighter was built and designed by BAC, even if your example wasn’t.

but say you wanted to build an aircraft with a Bristol engine, it would be acceptable if the engine was the main part of the model E.g. the engine is fully exposed and the main part of the build, or if you wanted to build the engined separately.

any other ideas or things you might not be sure of then drop me a line!

happy building!
