Finnish Fokker part 4 Wasp engine. Special hobby 1/48th

Recommended Posts

Well, that will be be the last of the serie, but certainly the most interesting indeed. By 1941 Finland was part of the Axis, and ,as such, could not except any spare parts from Britain. As a matter of fact , the Mercury engined Fokker were in need of modernisation. The availability of US engines led to the transformation of the "Sarja" in something hybrid, but the Finnish air Force was in need of anything which could fly and fight! So the wasp engine Fokker was born! A different engine, a longer hood, different tail surfaces and rudder and that was it! Here are pics of the plane of Maj. L. Bremer in Syyskuu, in September 41. Best regards and mny thanks for those who shown an interest is this small but courageous nation aviation.

More Finnish Fokkers🙂 And what a beauty this is! I think this my favourite "Ukko-Mokkeri" in your collection. Well done.

When can we expect Morane MS 406 or a Caudron in Finnish markings?😉 My grandfather used to fly a Morane during the Winter War. The fighter base was located at our summer cottage.

Cheers,

Antti

What @Antti_K said goes double for me! My very favorite Finnish fighter in my very favorite scheme and markings, too. Beautiful model! Now, how about a Morko-Morane?

Mike

BTW, the ground crew need to take a look at that oil cooler! :giggle:

I never did built a Morko-Morane. But as a French I will soon post a Finnish MS-406 so stay tuned! Cheers and take care of the Roses of san Antonio!

Oh oh! Do we have some Bob Wills fans over there? Cause I'm one, but my real heroes are Flatt & Scruggs! Country rocks but Bluegrass rules! Hee How!

Oh man, I just love Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys!  At their peak, they were the most versatile big band in the country, and were admired by great jazz musicians like Count Basie's band.  An example of that:

Big Beaver

Bob is still missed around here.  In fact, one of their first gigs in Texas, after leaving Oklahoma and the Light Crust Flour company, was here in my hometown, Cameron Texas.

Here's one that says it all about Bob:

Bob Wills is still the King

Bluegrass?  😀  Have you heard Del McCoury do this Richard Thompson classic?   Oh boy! :clap2:

Ha! Maybe 40 years ago! I've been married for 41 years now, and they have been the happiest five years of my life! :giggle:
