Resin looks good, but there is quite a large depression on the upper piece - looks like it has been repaired before shipping which is a bit naughty - let's see what it looks like under a coat of primer. I toyed with the idea of putting a pilot in there - Mr Matchbox is never gonna squeeze in, not sure who the cockpit was designed for - 12 year olds? Anyways, a session of superglue, kicker, and sanding is about to commence. I've decided that the armament of 2 x 30mm cannon doesn't make sense - so one position will be faired over. I can't imagine the sound of that going off near your earhole would have been very good for the hearing either. The canopy has been polished and washed - just waiting for it to dry before it gets a dip in Klear and then I'll continue with the filling/sanding. The depression can just about be seen on the right wing here - I don't think it's worth the effort to correct in a Blitzbuild. The fins are attached, panel lines tidied up, and the general airframe and intakes refined a little. Another squirt of primer and it's time for a cuppa I reckon. Another coat of primer - almost ready to get the canopy on, once the panel decal goes on. I added a placard from a Mike Grant sheet as a replacement. Next session should have the canopy on hopefully. Canopy on, and a bit more filling and sanding done - just need the canopy to dry enough so I can get some paint on now. Weather should be good tomorrow so spraying should be good. Still haven't decided on a scheme, and not sure if I'll use the kit decals or not as the instrument panel was a tad thick to say the least. Anyways, after a spattered approach which couldn't be passed off as a WHIF scheme, and some judicious cleaning we are here. This will now be painted in the rarely-mentioned, experimental, late-war "Geist " scheme - specifically designed as a low-vis camo for high altitude interception work. 😉 It still needs some tidying up around the canopy, and I'll sort some suitable decals out of the stash in due course.
