Placeholder until I can get life put to one side. 😀 Inspired by @JOCKNEY and his Luft '46 build during the festive season, though I couldn't face a Unicraft kit myself. Resin looks good, and hopefully it'll come together quickly enough, (famous last words.) Jason Todd approach for me as the missus is coming up from South Woodford for the weekend.

Let's get this show on the road - not many pieces, obligatory Blitzbuild 'nana for eats, and some melodic, gentle music to get us started.

Resin looks good, but there is quite a large depression on the upper piece - looks like it has been repaired before shipping which is a bit naughty - let's see what it looks like under a coat of primer. Looking forward to the vac canopy as well.

A little bit of superglue, some judicious filing, and most of the time spent on cutting out the canopy gets us here. Time for some soup prepared by daughter no. 2.

Back at the bench. I toyed with the idea of putting a pilot in there - Mr Matchbox is never gonna squeeze in, not sure who the cockpit was designed for - 12 year olds?

Anyways, a session of superglue, kicker, and sanding is about to commence. Hopefully get a squirt of Halfords primer on it later so it can cure overnight.

Some sanding done, though you can't really tell. I've decided that the armament of 2 x 30mm cannon doesn't make sense - so one position will be faired over. I can't imagine the sound of that going off near your earhole would have been very good for the hearing either. The canopy has been polished and washed - just waiting for it to dry before it gets a dip in Klear and then I'll continue with the filling/sanding.

Last night's session left us with a dipped canopy and first priming of the airframe. Still plenty to go at yet though.

Today's sessions start here - canopy needs another dipping, and the main airframe isn't too bad. The depression can just about be seen on the right wing here - I don't think it's worth the effort to correct in a Blitzbuild. Hoping to finish assembly today, get the canopy attached, and get the undersides painted in light blue/grey.

Morning session done - canopy has had another dip, it's not great but it will do. The fins are attached, panel lines tidied up, and the general airframe and intakes refined a little. Another squirt of primer and it's time for a cuppa I reckon.

Off we go again, an oaty/fruit luncheon with coffee, and hopefully the primer has cured having been in the sun, before I set about it again. Lovely day today.

Carpet monster got the control column, so the spares box came out. There were only 8 parts in the kit and it got one. Another coat of primer - almost ready to get the canopy on, once the panel decal goes on.

Another session done - this time the carpet monster had the instrument panel decal away. It was in place and drying, and then it wasn't. I added a placard from a Mike Grant sheet as a replacement. Next session should have the canopy on hopefully.

..and another one gone. Canopy on, and a bit more filling and sanding done - just need the canopy to dry enough so I can get some paint on now. Weather should be good tomorrow so spraying should be good. Still haven't decided on a scheme, and not sure if I'll use the kit decals or not as the instrument panel was a tad thick to say the least.

Not so good with the canopy - the polite version is that it didn't look great, and so I masked it off, secured it with cyano, and then slathered some filler on it. I'll be back later after a cuppa and some marmalade on toast.

You're making great progress, especially considering the timeframe you have to work in.

I look at this and think "Proto-F7U Cutlass"!

Thanks for the support. Got some paint on but tried to use an old tin of white for mixing. How daft can you be? :wall:

Anyways, after a spattered approach which couldn't be passed off as a WHIF scheme, and some judicious cleaning we are here.

This will now be painted in the rarely-mentioned, experimental, late-war "Geist " scheme - specifically designed as a low-vis camo for high altitude interception work. 😉

It still needs some tidying up around the canopy, and I'll sort some suitable decals out of the stash in due course.

Stopped counting the hours and minutes as 00:00 approaches - can't use my 24 hours worth.

Great work. Couldn't you just call the undercoat faded RLM02?

Where did you get the gallbladder forceps? Do not incriminate yourself by answering that question on line!
