JOCKNEY
Circa 1988, so positively modern for me Chocolate spread on toast, very healthy ! Part of drop tank support broken and the bits missing but it wouldn't be right to start a build with all the bits present, it would feel like cheating ! Decals and instructions I built a Hurricane II in the recent African GB so this will have the same colours. Quick question what's the cockpit interior and wheel well colours for this one please ? cheers Pat PS Mrs Jockney is off to Glasgow tonight so work will begin when the coast is clear. Just going out the door to harvest seaweed, from a seaweed farm, how on earth did I get talked into this !
Jinxman
Lovely memories from that kit - built a few back in the day. I'd do the cockpit light green and the wheel well the same as the undersurfaces - it is a Blitzbuild after all.

vppelt68
At first look I thought your chocolate spread on toast was a display base for the Kittyhawk, before I read the caption . Really!
vppelt68
Pat, check the SH instructions at Scalemates, they are very good. Like the kit too! https://www.scalemates.com/kits/special-hobby-sh72377-kittyhawk-mkia--1108800
JOCKNEY
Started at 00:03, new software update on phone making clock difficult to see ! i tried out a green on the seat, then the interior Looks like the pilot has taken a 20mm shell to the abdomen so he will need filling before painting Cockpit interior painted, wing halves together, started to paint pilot and wrestling with the engine air intake which does seem to want to fit at all. Session ends, total build time so far, 1 hour and 5 minutes Cheers Pat
Beggsy
Ah, I remember building this kit as a kid. Remember that P-40 that was found in Africa a few years ago? And how the restoration was butchered? My model looked just like the restoration 😛
JOCKNEY
I've not been keeping this up to date, this from yesterday Build session stopped to let glue go off build time 65mins + 45mins = 110minutes Cheers Pat
JOCKNEY
So having got the glue to go off, time for some more assembly So an additional 94minutes assembly time, plus 110 = 204 3hrs 24mins I think I have an issue with the lighting in these pictures
JOCKNEY
Restart this morning Pilot painted, probably the wrong colour of kit for Africa ! Session ends Build time 112 minutes plus 204 = 316mins 5 hours 16 mins

Natter
Nice one Pat, Proof there is life in the old dog Airfix kits yet.
vppelt68
Congratulations Pat! Although I think Enzo and the BM mods need to re-think the Blitzbuild concept due to humanitary reasons. This chap was forced to eat his diorama base because of too tight deadlines

jean
Hi Pat, I know, I know, I am almost a week late! But you did yourself proud: you built a beautiful old timer. Congrats. But your eating habits are disgusting and will kill you!!!! Cheers mate. JR
