shortCummins
Here’s my build of a “naked” Polikarpov i-16 using the Eduard weekend kit and some AK (printed by Cartograf) “wood” decals, Extreme metal and MRP paints. Here she is with a “fully dressed” version… …and next to a “naked” Mossie’ You can find my build log here… until next time as always, any suggestions, criticisms or comments will be gratefully received. rgds John(shortCummins) 36
billn53
Nicely done! I need to add a “naked” bird to my shelf, just need to decide what to build. Thanks for your WIPs, which will come in handy.

roginoz
That's come up a treat !, Definitely a different variation on the usual dull green versions that grace [!] my shelf. I'm impressed with your delineation of the wing and tailplane ribs ! I'll be nicking your method unashamedly........ A stunning build ! 2Step
sorry to complain. But this is a forum for plastic kits. Not wood or metal

Toryu
Splendid idea to show how they were constructed. Definitely more difficult to build than a 'dressed' model, and very well done!
Gary Brantley
Clever idea, and so well-achieved too! Great work and very inspiring as well!

72modeler
Good thing it's too cold in Mother Russia for termites! Seriously, those are two extremely beautiful models... I still say go for a naked Spruce Goose...or failing that, at the other extreme, size-wise, a naked XP-77? (I'll be here all week- remember to tip your waitress!) Mike https://www.airspacemag.com/history-of-flight/cancelled-the-bell-xp-77-11856485/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH61hxGMSr0 IIRC, Special Hobby did one in 1/72- kit 72012, and there was a fairly crude vacform, as well.

shortCummins
thanks Chaps at some point I'm planning to build a "naked" Hurricane if I can find some detail about the wings if they were mainly wood or fabric. rgds John(shortCummins)

Zigomar
You also could do an Il-2 Stormovick as they were built in wood too!
