Bill Davis Posted May 23, 2021 Posted May 23, 2021 Ki-44-II, 29 Sentai ,2nd Chutai ,AnchangI Formosa, August 1944. I used Quickboost exaust and a True Details pilot seat on this Hasegawa kit. This was the first time I tried the "hair spray" method for the chipped paint effect. It was tedious and time consuming, but I was pleased at how it turned out. 32
28ZComeback Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Really luxurious finish!!! Absolutely gorgeous! 1
kapam Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Brilliant! I've been somewhat of a fan of the Ki-44 since I built one (Hasegawa 1/72). For no particular reason I've liked the look and proportions of the Shoki, ever since. Your hair spray method worked beautifully - a top-shelf build! 1
BerndM Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Excellent. The extra work with the chipping is really rewarding. 1
Tim R-T-C Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Lovely work and the chipping looks realistic - it's very easy to overdo it. 1
VolkerR. Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Really nice finish. Your model captures the worn look of these late war japanese aircraft. 1
72modeler Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 I, too, have always liked the looks of the Ki-44, and your build is outstanding. Very restrained and realistic weathering and scuffing, too! Mike 1
