06/24
Construction completed and base coat paint applied, Halfords Camo Green over flat black primer - it’s a darker green shade than Humbrol OD so hopefully represents the late war British drab quite well (to my eyes at least). 06/24
I can’t go any further today, as I don’t have paint for the tracks, so these images are just a dry fit to show what it should eventually look like 28mm Churchill MKIV AVRE by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr 28mm Churchill MKIV AVRE by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr 28mm Churchill MKIV AVRE by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr The eagle eyed will note that I have managed to knock off the front towing eye, so a scratch built replacement will be required.
06/24
Noting the colour variation in the green between the two lots of lightning, I'm struck by how this darker drab shade might work well for post war US equipment in Vietnam. Rubicon are planning a range of Vietnam era models, so a useful note to file away until then

Model Mate
This is great! I'm loving these small-scale models - the kits look very good, and you're knocking them out at a fantastic pace with wonderful detail.
06/24
The pause has seen me assembling buildings for Wild West style games, but a chance discovery that 15mm Skirmish Games online store has a physical storefront in our local town, gave me an excuse to acquire an Italeri M4 to join the fleet. 06/24
While I wait for the raft of Rubicon new releases to arrive, more progress on the M32B1 - a multi-media kit from Rubicon using their plastic lower hull and running gear, with resin and pewter upper hull and details. The boom can be assembled in either the raised or lowered positions, and wheel chocks and a range of lifting gear are provided. It should be possible to cable up the boom too, I’m thinking I’ll try ez-line so I can tension the cable. 06/24
As with most Wargames scale kits, there are some compromises, notably the headlight guards and running gear, but for me, these pale into insignificance when set against the speed and ease of construction, alongside the diminutive size that 1/56 scale gives. 06/24
I couldn’t resist assembling the Tilly, in my opinion easily the equal of the larger 1/48 and 1/35 Tamiya kits, with a fraction of the parts count. In these pictures the major assemblies are only dry fitted, to allow me to dismantle for painting. Pig of the Week
Smashing little truck ! The only bit thats a bit clonky is the tilt cover and ropes, I'd be inclined to leave the soft top off altogether. Looking forward to seeing it painted. Your invasion force must be pretty overwhelming by now I'd think !!

Pig of the Week
Tilly looks great with the div signs etc 👍 The Nam thing looks most interesting too, Full Metal Jacket is a favourite fillum of mine... you'll need a Citroen traction avant of course, and I wonder if you can get Honda C50s ! 06/24
So the two Bedfords are ready for paint, currently drying after a bath in soapy water as the ABS can be a bit slippery (presumably residual mould release agent). I’ve only made two additions, the quarter light frames (0.5mm square Evergreen strip) and a back for the stowage box under the QLT. 06/24
Ok be gentle, my first attempt at Mickey Mouse using aerosols, will need tidying up with a brush or Gundam panel line marker. Looks ok I hope. The “British” OD is Halfords Camo Green - the tilt covers are Humbrol 155 OD, so you can see the contrast, the Halfords colour being darker Bedford QLs by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr Bedford QLs by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr and the plain green QLD Bedford QLs by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr Bedford QLs by Jon Gwinnett, on Flickr
Pig of the Week
The M. Mouse looks great.. Out of interest would the lads have had a hand in painting this at the time I wonder? If so you might not want to tidy it too much, I'm going on some of the Land Rovers I've had dealings with where the camo was unit done and very rough indeed !
