Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hello everyone… Im trying to collect info on the BAC Strikemaster. Now from what I’ve read is the T.5 airframe modified to carry four weapons pylons and two 7.62 guns ? Not sure if all Strikemaster’s had the internal guns, and if so where they're located. Back to my posted question, can the Airfix Jet Provost T.4 be modified to a T.5 or Strikemaster ? The old tool strikemaster is as rare as 🦄💩 and there are no swap meets before 2022 locally to even try to look for one ? I can however get the Jet provost kits fairly easily ? Tony Edmundson
the whole cockpit and nose section, for one, is completely different on the T5; I would say no. Cheers Tony Edited May 14, 2021 by Tony Edmundson 2

Absolutely not; the most significant difference between a JP3/4 and a JP5 (and hence Strikemaster) is the entire nose, because both the JP5 and Strikemaster had a pressurised cabin, and the canopy was totally redesigned to allow this. More explanation with photos at Jet Provost . Quote 1
Hook
It's rather like the T-38, F-5B and F-5F - superficially similar, but in fact totally different. Cheers, Andre 2
BritJet
As you've had no luck finding the old Airfix T5 have you tried looking for the Sword kit? Steve

Hook
These are even harder to find than the Airfix T.5, judging by a quick peek on a well known auction site. Cheers, Andre
Paws4thot
@Corsairfoxfouruncle Well, no luck with a Sword kit, but I did find FLY YLF48016 in 1/48.

The T.5 has a sloped fuselage and higher canopy sliding at an angle. Probably to accommodate equipment/ejection seats.
Tony Edmundson
the T5 was pressurized while the earlier T3; T4s were not Tony 1
