Now for something completely different

A trip into the dark side. First a Baade 152  (a what?) see here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baade_152

1/72 scale all resin kit by Aero Modell of Germany. Essentially a sawn-off B-47 with seats.

Now a 1/100 scale Tupolev Tu-104 from the ancient East German VEB Plasticart kit, with aftermarket decals from BSModelle in Ukraine

Nice to see them both here!

It could be interesting to note that an Eastern Germany company produced kit of Baade/Bb152 (know also as Dresden 152) https://www.scalemates.com/kits/veb-kvz-5546-turbinen-verkehrsflugzeug-152--947712 , it was in 1:100 scale. It was in our home. Moreover, when I was small kid I had a wooden snap-on model of this machine... So I am very familiar with it, since the most depth recalls of my memory...

I had seen this VEB Plasticart model on ebay. It's a bit rare. Some guy in Poland wanted 4,450.00 Euros for it.

I commented in the Turkish drone thread that you learn something new every day. Well sometimes you learn a couple of new things every day. Never had an inkling of the Baade 152 before and I like to think I can recognise a lot of aircraft.

But both models are very nicely done.

A couple of top-notch builds.

I especially love the red & white finish on the Baade 152, though I can't say I know anything about the type.

Extremely well done!

:clap2:

Very nice job on both! I wonder if the Baader was built with bomber ambitions in mind, like the He-111 and Do-17.

The design team had come back from USSR where they had been working on a bomber, the Baade design was based on that. Small world.
