Airfix A.W. Whitley kits

I've just come by a Whitley Mk V. What I really want is a GR Mk VII. Am I right in assuming that it's the same plastic in both boxes, but the little pylons aren't used in the Mk V version? (The kit is still sealed in cellophane and I don't want to break it to look in the box) In which case if I'm not able to find a trade it's just a case of coughing up for some aftermarket decals to make a Coastal Command version, and getting the right instructions off Scalemates?

Tony, I think you will find that the Mk.VIII box has all the additional sprue(s) to make either the Costal Command version or BOAC civil Whitley. The stock Mk.V box just has the basic sprues for the bomber. If you are after a CC version then yo’d better buy the dedicated box.

I have both boxing's, and the MK V does not have the costal command items. These are a separate sprue.

Might I suggest that a request in trhe wanted section might turn up the required sprue from somebody who has not used it.

Just occurred to me that @Adam Poultney has recently built the BOAC version in fine style... Adam I don't suppose you'd like to sell me the leftover Coastal Command bits?
