PlaStix
Hi all, Welcome to the cheapest GB on Britmodeller! The rules for the GB are as follows. 1: The Group build will run from 00:01 on Saturday 15th May 2021 until 23:59 on Sunday 5th September 2021. 2. The basic idea is that any kit can be built in the GB as long as it cost you less than £10.00 - or the equivalent thereof in the currency of the country you live or lived in - to purchase. This will hopefully mean we get a wide variety of Out Of Box (OOB) builds made without the need to use any aftermarket items. The cost of postage and the glue and paints is NOT included in the £10 (or equivalent). 3. The kits built can currently cost less than £10 (or equivalent) to buy or you can build something that cost you less than £10 back in, say, 1970. If you have the receipt still or the price sticker is still on the box then that is even better but not a necessity for taking part. However, it would be useful if you purchased the item in a sale, at a real knock down price, if you did have the receipt or the sale/reduced sticker is still in place. 4. In the spirit of the previous GB it will be expected that people are honest about how much they paid for the kit. Someone suggesting a 1/32nd Tamiya Spitfire cost them, say, £4.50 back in 2008 will be looked upon as going against the spirit of the idea of this GB. A gift you received of a 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire is also not eligible – any kits you got as a gift must have cost less than a tenner to purchase. Basically , to be within the spirit of this GB the kit must currently cost or be worth less than £10 or its equivalent or have been purchased in a real sale. 5. Any scale or genre of kits can be built in this GB.. 6. Aftermarket parts shouldn’t really be used – but could be, at a push, if the cost of the kit and the aftermarket is genuinely worth less than £10 or equivalent. 7. Scratch building is always welcomed. 8. Spares box parts are allowed to be included but must constitute less than 20% of the build. 9. Entries must not be more than 25% complete at the start of the GB. If in doubt, please contact the GB host. 10. All builds must have a WIP thread, which is updated regularly, showing progress including photos showing the progress. If you are making more than one kit - each build should have a separate thread. 11. No buying, selling or wanted items are allowed in the GB area. 12. Hopefully there will be a poll to vote for your favourite build at the end of the GB – it will depend on how many finished builds we get. Please do not canvas for votes. 13. Enjoy building your cheap models!! - That's an order! This type of GB probably won't appeal to everyone but should give most of us a chance to hunt through to the back of the stash to find something we thought we wouldn't make for a while, if at all.
