Hobbyboss "easykit" IL2 3M Sturmovick.

No real problems with the build, unsurprisingly given the easykit lable! I think it looks the part and you get two nice decal options. Whole kit is brush painted in Humbrol acrylics finished in Windsor & Newton matt varnish.

TFL and to all who looked in or commented,

Cheers Greg

Cyberhobby/Dragon

1/200 scale

Avro Vulcan B2, XM605

Modelled to represent the aircraft circa 1982 in wrap around camouflage. Vulcans in wrap around used Dark Sea Grey instead of Medium Sea Grey so it's a bit darker than usual.

Here's my (first?) entry for this GB, a Tamiya 1/48 Fieseler Fi103, also known colloquially of course as the V1 or Doodlebug.  One similar to this was nearly responsible for the death of my grandmother in 1944 as she walked to work, but Londoners were made of stern stuff, so she just picked herself up out of the rubble and went to work as if nothing had happened.

My Tupolov is finally at the point I can call it done.

Endless revision of all kinds of errors have got me to here. There's more I could have, and should have done, but I'm happy to draw a line at this point.

Thanks for a smashing GB for which I have no shortage of candidates!

Regards,

Adrian

[edit] Now I'm seeing it on a PC monitor, I have no idea what's going on with the colour balance in all those photos - I promise it's all the same model and the same lighting!

Two finished in a day. I'm on a roll!

This time its my minute rocket powered Russian interceptor. VP CANADA's  Berezniak-Isayev BI Rocket-Powered Interceptor / Fighter Prototype

A very enjoyable Vac Form build with no real problems to talk about.

Finished in what passed for accurate colours back when the kit was released, I'm happy with the result.

It's a tiny little thing...

RAF Tilly

1/48 Tamiya Utility Vehicle 10HP

I understand that the RAF didn't operate this type of vehicle, but I liked the colour.

This is a Gem of a little kit (bar the decals).

This is the first of a pair of Hobby Boss P-39 Airacobras, in this case the P-39N.

DSC05260-crop DSC05262-crop DSC05264-crop DSC05266-crop

Like many of the early HB kits it is a bit of a mixed bag, not helped by the fact that the sprues contain parts for both the N and Q versions together with some extras. The prop is totally wrong being far too small so I have replaced it with one from my spares box suitably modified, and I had to add the troughs for the 50cal mg above the nose. As they only offer decs for 2 Russian versions I also removed the wing guns which the Russians seldom if ever carried. The decs are not bad but the numbering is a bit wonky and there are some stencils on the sheet which they do not show on the instructions. They also got the slogan on the starboard side of the nose wrong it seems.

This plane was initially flown by the ace Ivan Il'ich Babak of the 100 GIAP who received it in September 1943. It would have been delivered in OD over Neutral Gray with 4 white stars on blue circles and these were overpainted as you can see, and a further pair of red stars added. In February of 1945 he took command of another group and the plane went to another ace Grigorii Del'nikov who had Babak's personal insignia of an angel with sword and trumpet overpainted hence the dark AMT-04 patch on the Starboard side of the nose over the faded OD I have used. On April 18th 1945 one of Del'nikov's fellow pilots was killed and so he had the slogan "For Pyotr Gutchyok" painted at a slant over the patch on the Starboard nose and 4 days later Babak was also shot down and presumed killed (actually he became a POW) so another slogan "For Vanya Babak" was painted on the Port side. HB have got the slogans in the correct place and alignment but both say "For Vanya Babak" but I have left it as it is.

As I said, a few problems and errors but not too bad a kit.

Cheers

Pete

Built from the old but still very nice Airfix 1/48 FB.VI kit with decals by Lift Here of Serbia and stencils from a Tamiya kit and paints by Gunze. A very enjoyable build from start to finish, which you can see in the build log below.

Thanks for looking.

Craig.

My second entry to the Less Than A Tenner GB is this; Airfix's Bf109E-4 in 1/48.  I used a left-over set of Altmark decals to show her in the colours of Oberleutnant Gerhardt Schoepfel, Staffelkaptain of 9/JG26 in early summer of 1940 when based at Caffieres.

Build thread is here. Thanks for a great GB. I’m hoping to get some more builds in, but my job currently seems to have other ideas!

Afrika Korps Fi-153 Storch 1/72 Airfix classic/vintage kit.

A tricky but enjoyable build, and the end result looks (to me) like a Storch. All brush painted with Hannants Exracrylics and Humrol paints.

Thanks to the hosts and contributers for an enjoyable and fun GB.

Cheers Greg
