Interiors are shaping up nicely!  I'm interested in the Beaufighter -- I haven't watched too many of them built.

Boy, those Mk. I's were sure small, weren't they?  Har Har... :coat:

Thanks Roger, it is a great kit so far and is building very nicely.  Got another one to do as a Mk.X so will likely do a Dallachy machine. The fit is good so far.

Thanks

Chris

Great work on the inners, Chris, that's a lovely-looking office - excellent detail painting, if I may say so!

Looking forward to watching this one coming together.

Call me crazy but I think I will be in, just want to order another PE cockpit set, but due to me ordering some other PE sets and Gsnnet decals I need to wait for pay day, which is Friday, wahoo.

Much as I'd like to I've already built a Dallachy Torbeau this year but I will follow with great interest and as Jadlam are reporting that the Gannet will be in stock this week, I'm just waiting for the Airfix email to say it's on it's way.

Good luck Gents.

Not crazy at all Chris, it’s a good set, looks great in your cockpit.

When I saw it I wanted to order one (for the Beaufighter that I’ve got on back order) but it’s discontinued! ☹️
No stock at big H or anywhere else I looked.

I'm assuming that the Beaufighter has Merlin engines and the 'angled' tailplanes. If so, I'll be following because I had my eyes on the Alley Cat conversion but never got round to buying one.

Thanks Charlie, that's a shame to hear about the PE set.  Hood luck with your build too.

Hi Simon, thanks.  I am building an FAA  Merline engined Mk.II , although the ztail planes are confusing me a bit so more research required as the FAA spec is Flat, but I have seen some profiles with angled.  Will try and zero in on a machine but not that much info out there.

Thanks guys

Chris

Edit: No just checked and i must have given it to my nephew.

Hi Simon,

both Alley Cat Beau' Mk.II sets are still available via Models For Sale, early here and late here, although there is only one late version in stock.

Hi Chris,

I've just had a look in WingLeader Photo Archive 10 for the Beau' Mk.I/II/VIf - only two pics of FAA Mk.IIs on p.48, unfortunately. One is the nose section only of a 779NAS machine at Gibraltar, the other is T3223/L1*P of 798NAS, Lee-on-Solent which appears to me to have angled tailplanes. I can scan if you'd like.

Hi Mark, yes please,  that would be most helpful, I was leaning towards T3137 which has yhe flat tailplanes,TSS uppers and another article says AM sky blue undersides, not sure what that is at the mo.

Thanks

Chris
