That is a beautiful little engine Chris, the details must be pretty tiny in 1/48 but you've done a really neat job. I'd love a coin in the photograph of the completed engine for comparison. Top work mate!

Thanks Richie it's certainly getting there and us a model in it's own right really, it's from Armoury fot their Flycatcher.  I was going to use the kit item but after doing the scratch woinside and adding the guns too I thought I would get the fantastic engine. They don't give the exhausts though.

Noted  will place a coin next to it for the next image.

Thanks Alan it was a bit of a pain with the addition of the pushrod, but all worked out in the end.  The glue I use is Expo thick CA.  Although a gel would have been ideal for the pushrod. Will start making the exhausts later although can't see much in the way of reference on these!

Wow. Using thick CA, it's still incredibly neat work. I've been using GS Hypo cement but they seem to have had a massive drop in quality control with the thin nozzle popping out of the tube to create a sticky horrible mess 😩 looking for alternatives...

I use a cocktail stick to apply a small amount to the join if it's a good tight fit, otherwise a blob on each end of the rid if not as tight a fit.

The good thing re the cocktail sticks is that they can be whittled down to a very fine point with tge craft knife which helps a lot.

Superb embellishments on that engine Chris. An eyecatcher for a  Flycatcher...

Thanks Tony, I have really enjoyed building this little motor, now for the exhausts which I need to find some references for.

Can't argue with any of the others Chris, that's a little cracker of an engine - top job!!

Thanks Keith, the kit for the engine is lovely and fits together very well indeed.  It was definitely worth purchasing.

I'm liking those exhausts very much Chris, the engine looks ready to fire up! Hhmmmm, lead wire, notes taken! I think that sounds like a very useful material!

Ha ha thanks Richie, just add fuel!!!

The lead wire is very useful, I have sizes 0.2 to 0.8 mm gauges I stock. It's very handy for plumbing an engine or exhausts and wires and pipework in cockpits , got mine on ebay, but I think you can get in angling shops .
