Hi Roger, hope you are well. Thanks for your very kind comments,  it was a joy to build and is a cracking little kit. The Firefly is very nearly done, will pop some photos on later.

I am also starting to gather bits for the next builds, one of which is an FAA Corsair and another is a Sea Gladiator which I am really looking forward to. I do have another Firefly but think I will leave that for a while.  My next non FAA distraction is also near by and your Fulmar build influenced it, with the Camouflage scheme you did, but  mine is a Mk1 Tropical Hurricane with the squiggly front end sections

Thanks

I'm really liking that Firefly Chris. I have a passion (one of many) for FAA aircraft, but I especially like those from the Pacific Fleet. If you have an interest in the Pacific Fleet in WWII, David Hobbs book "The British Pacific Fleet" is a great read!

Thanks Terry Very kind, yes like you, I have a passion for FAA Aicraft, my Dad was on board HMS Centaur and then Ark Royal before moving onto a Frigate, HMS Dido and used to bring me gifts from his trips abroard and lots of posters etc of the Ships and Aircraft, wish I still had them. I have some cracking photos of the Seahawks and Gannets aboard Centaur and built one of Seahawks and have a Gannet to do from Centaur too.  Also did a Centaur Sea Vixen .  I fo love the BPF machines too and one of my next builds is a BPF Corsair.  Thanks for the book info too, I will check it out.

Thanks

Chris

Thanks CC that is very kind  love the Firefly too, got a crew more in the stash too.  I couldn't resist a Corsair too, it will take a bit of work though I think.

I love the painting part  very relaxing,  I have never airbrushed due to fumes in the house so have to brush paint. Thanks for your kind comments fella and hope you are okay.

Pleased with the way this has turned out.

Will try and progress the Flycatcher engine then that will be finished  and will also crack on with the yellow Anson.

  • bigbadbadge changed the title to FAA builds ASV Anson, Firefly and Flycatcher to start - Firefly now finished too

Another stunner Chris, so much to like about this. Beautiful tonal variations in the camo scheme, subtle and very believable weathering, perfectly painted canopy and the icing on the cake is that the decals look painted on. I think I've enjoyed seeing this come together almost as much as you have clearly enjoyed building it. Very high class mate!
