Glad to hear the surgery went well and that Mrs. Badge is through that OK but the wait for the results must be taking a toll.

I truly hope that it's all good news when you do get the results.

Oh..... and the stuff on the bench looks absolutely grand too.

Cheers,

Alistair

Thanks Alistair very kind fella, yes it is nerve wracking.  Just been in contact and it is looking good for bringing her home today. I shall whizz round with the hoover of hope to make sure the house is ready 😉

Pleased with them all now, the Firefly has had a lot of fettling,  so looking forward to tackling the wings now.

Thanks

Hi all

As SWMBO is in Hospital following her Operation,  which was successful, what a relief.  I thought I would get some bench time in after chores.

The little KP Seafire has had the underside painted.

The Firefly has been fettled and has taken quite a bit of time.  I have finally been able to insertvthe exhausts and chin cowling.  I am waiting for the Sprue goo to dry at the rear of that panel to fair in.

I have noticed that the vertical tail is tilted over to port slightly, I noticed when I was fitting ghe horizontal tail planes.   I am not going to attempt to straighten now.

Ob crikey the Whirlwind has been started too

And finally... the Sspitfire XVI is finished.

Thanks for looking in ancthanjs for your support this week too, much appreciated.

All looking very good Chris - I have a Firefly in the stash so must remember that point about the vertical fin - fingers crossed for your good wife

Thanks Roger for you kind wishes, just have to wait for biopsies  now to see if c.... or not.  Relieved the operation was a success, she could  come home today, fingers crossed.

Pleased with all progress so far and glad to get the crikey underway.  I might create a new WIP for that and all the Spitfires.

Thanks fella

Chris

Hi Chris,

Just caught up here. Keeping everything crossed for you both, it puts things into perspective when we get head down staring at bits of plastic. That said, enjoying your progress :)

Marvellous news about your wife's surgery, hope she's safely home again now. Fingers crossed for good news on the biopsy results.

All the bench work is looking splendid! Have to say that the Spit XVI is very special - i might have to resort to a bit of plagiarism..... 😆

Take it easy! And all best wishes to Mrs B, too.

Cheers,

Mark

Good man!! As with the others, really glad Mrs B's surgery went well, and fingers and toes crossed for good results - hope the wait isn't too long :)

That Spit is wonderful, really beautiful build!

As to the Firefly fin - is it maybe deliberately 'twisted' to counteract torque from the prop - many powerful prop aircraft had such fins?

Is that the 1/32 Crikey?

Thanks Chris, bear with on the fin incase as Keith pointed out below, is it meant to be leaning? Thanks for your kind wishes too. Pleased to have her home.

Hi Neil, hope you're well.  Thamks for your kind thoughts too.  Relieved she is home, yes certainly does put things into perspective,  although it is great for taking one's mind off things.

Thanks Mark, Very kind of you too.  Ghe bloods looked good they  said today, which is great news, but we will still have to wait for the biopsy results of what was taken out,  will be a few weeks.

Pleased with the Spitfire, I wanted it to look fairly clean but just having completed the race with exhaust stains and some minor chipping and oil staining, it's a great scheme although took a lot of coats  of Humbrol Metalcote flat aluminium.   You'll enjoy that one.

Thanks for your kind wishes too.

Pleased with the Spitfire, they are very nice kits those Eduard Spitfires.

Good point re the Firefly,  I will see if I can see anything about it in my books.  I only noticed it adding the horizontal tail planes checking them from the rear afainstvggectail looked good and when I looked front on , they were out and down to Port so straightened then up from the front view.

Yes that is the Special Hobby 32nd Whirlwind, so far it has gone together very well. So looking forward to building this one..

You got me there Mark.  I am not sure tbh but I am not sure which scheme to go for yet so once decided I will be able to give you an answer.  I was originally going for an Op Starkey aircraft  but visited the RAF  museum at  Manston the other day and they had Whirlwinds there for a while so need to make up my mind,  Hmm🤔

Thanks everyone for being so kind  it has really lifted my spirits recently,  now she is back in am going to be busier round the house no doubt but shout still get some bench time in the evenings  hopefully.

Best wishes

Chris

So glad to hear things are looking positive, although waiting for the results will be an anxious time, I'm sure.

As well you should be! It looks superb.

I found the Weekend edition on eBay earlier, though it was snatched from under my nose while I was struggling with my silly old phone! Overtrees are available from Eduard, and the markings are standard apart from the race numbers.....

Sorry, Chris, I was only being daft there - a Crikey Mk.I. I don't think there were any variations in the Whirlwind.

Thanks Mark, the wait will ve anxious but with the blood results looking good it hopefully will be clear?

Ahh that's a shame you missed out on the one on Ebay, the overtrees are a very handy source, it may be worth  putting a wanted ad on here to see if anyone has the race numbers if they did another option?

Ahv you did get me there then, in my defence it has been a long day

Yep, a bit of a nuisance, especially as the others are eye wateringly expensive. I want to order some other overtrees anyway, and as they're relatively cheap they won't break the bank. And an ad in the wants section is a great idea!

Sorry about that, Chris, it was a very poor attempt at a joke :( I should be on the stage.....etc!

Thanks Mark.  very kind fella

I do like the amount of spares you get with the Eduard kits.  Very handy.   It might be worth saving a search on Ebay,  I have been after a Pavla HP Halifax cockpit set for ages and got one that way.

You did get me a treat on that one,  I was just knackered yesterday and vegged out on the sofa in the end.  Very good effort, yes you should be on the stage😉😄

Thanks fella

Hi all

A bit of progress.

I have been cutting the lower section  of the wings to start sorting the wingfold.   I cut to the panel lines required but this actually was too narrow so I had to add some plasticard strips to either side before I could then cut the ends of the undercarriage bay resin section. @corsaircorp just a heads ip for you when foing yours

Now I can glue in the undercarriage bay and start adding some PE bits .

Thanks for looking in

CC and Chris, scratch that last entry, I have now cut the top of the port wing and the extra strips I added to the lower wing are not right and I have removed and it all has fitted together okay.  I have to get some sleep now, but will post some photos tomorrow.   Sorry to have lead you up the proverbial garden path.
