I know no other way....!! Keith Hi Keith, yes I have stopped doing that a long time ago and use Humbrol weathering powders and a mig powder. Humbrol smoke powder is used for cage main deposits and I go over them with a light sand or European mud powders from Mig , I use an old well used brush and gently add a bit at a time in the pattern you want and build it up. The good thing about the powders is if you make a mistake or put too much on it removes easily with water on a cotton bud, let dry and start again. The only thing I have to be careful with is handling the model whm finished as I can't seal the powders in. I brush mine on over the Matt coat. Hope that helps Keith, they are very handy and last a long time too. Chris 2

The only downside was the rather high proportion of at sea days to on shore days, but that's only a tiny criticism. As first time cruisers, we should perhaps have looked a bit more closely at the itinery But we're already planning the next one, fjords again but more shore time. One of the highlights for me was the train from Narvik to Bjornfjell on the Swedish border on the Ofoten Railway. The scenery was INCREDIBLE!!! -12 degrees Celsius at Bjornfjell Anyway, the Seafire is an absolute stunner, Chris, and an inspiration too. Definitely a build I'd like to emulate! Definitely looking forward to the next one and I'm intrigued by the "mystery" ship (if you'll pardon the pun!). Cheers, Mark 1
