Every time I check in on this one it looks better and better, Chris.

Thanks Mark , I have now Matt coated and will start some chipping etc now, the Matt coat certainly has improved the look of it too.

Will get some photos when it is interesting enough to put some up.

Thanks

Hi all

More progress on the Seafire

Matt coat, some chipping using silver pencil and aluminium paint on the upper surfaces and then normal pencil underneath.   Undercarriage and elevators added.

I am calling this one done now, apart from the wingtip lights which I forgot, will get them added before RFI. Pleased with this one although incorrect air intake under the chin , but haven't got the correct one and now not going to change 🙄

Taking another look at this treasure, I really like the overpainting -- fuselage roundels and codes, and the exhaust effects worked very well -- I didn't do exhausts because they often look out of place but yours came out nicely. THe camo is subtle too. The model is telling me, "I've been around, been through a lot..."

Thanks David, very kind, the overpainting was what attracted me to this scheme and its the first time I have used masks, home made post it notes with the roundel sized circle and applied wet with water and then painted in using black enamel and then masks removed and painted up to the line after. I am thankful to you asalways try to achieve something that is plausible  and appreciate your comments about been around,  been through a lot.

Chris, I may have missed you saying how you use the powders, but how do you mean you 'no longer have to drybrush them on'? I know no other way....!!
