Hi all

Well what a week, last Sunday I took SWMBO with abdominal pains to the walk in medical centre in Folkestone and they told us to attend the A&E of the nearest Hospital in Ashford, this was inbthe evening, they kept her in as she had Appendicitis,  she had yhe operation on Monday afternoon and was released Tuesday and is recovering well.  Such great service by all the wonderful medical staff.  We are very grateful.

Last night someone reversed into my son's Mk2 Polo, luckily not much damage and they admitted liability and this morning it was all settled with a cheque on the way from the ghird party insurer and yours truly now has some Polo bodywork to fix, fettle and replace, oh and paint too🙄

The Porsche is now Road legal, so will be testing it this weekend. Wahoo.

Some further progress of some of the final bits.

Reprofiled prop blades and cut down prop boss to transfer blades over to.

Sorry to hear the mrs was ill but glad it's sorted. These things can be quite stressful! And amazing work on the kit, too. Hope you enjoy some deserved pleasure driving the newly acquired wheels!

Quite the update! glad all the drama wasn't as much drama as it could have been and Mrs. Badge is well on the mend.

The model looks good too. 😉

Thanks David and Mark, pleased she is home and recovering well. I keep getting "The Look" when I tell her off for doing stuff🙄 as she is bored already.

Pleased with the bits on the Sea Gladiator,  can't wait to get the prop boss sorted and detailed later then will just be the aerial wires to add and it will be finished.

Thanks guys for your kind comments and we'll wishes.

Great update Chris - good work on the Glad bits, great news about the Porsche - but excellent news that Mrs BBB is doing well...   :nodding: :)

Keith

PS good news too that the person who bumped your son's car owned up - not something that happens too often these days....

Hope SWMBO has a swift recovery Chris!

And good luck with the Polo. I had to save my sons 6N2 Polo from the clutches of the scrapman recently, fixing a bust clutch pedal. Cheap fix but labour intensive! Godo to keep these old bangers rolling though.  🚙🌬️

Thanks Mike she is doing well and almost normal although not allowed to lift anything heavy or drive for a few more weeks.  It is mad what will cause a vehicle to be scrapped/written  off, my son was worried they would write his off when they offered a courtesy car due to the costs of the hire cars to the insurers, they have settled with a cheque bring in the post.  Great job on your 6N2 as well, definitely good to keep them going.

Chris,

Crikey - what a week of highs and lows! At least you have had some bench time to calm down,

Sorry to hear about Mrs B,  Chris.

Glad to hear she’s on the mend though.
Good luck on the Polo repairs- you could always lend your son the Porsche while you’re fixing it…….

Hi all

Nearly finished now, cockpit canopy in place, doors in place and aerial wire.

Prop construction complete, the original props supplied by @Pete in Lincs, thanks Pete who supplied me 3 P38 lightning props, the blades were thinned and narrowed and a second one had the Hub cut down then some plasticard curved between the base of the blades with some lead wire round each base and brass rod to make the two fixings on each. Some pkadti  rod for the centre boss shafts with a brass tube used to sleeve it along with some plasticard wrapped around the top and bottom with a bit of rod protuding from the front and punched out balance weights, I think that will do it for the prop

A pic with the prop just sitting in place

Pleased with that

Thanks for looking in

That's looking rather wonderful. As said above, like walkaround photos. I'm lost track of the build or I would have commented before.

Thanks Pete, very kind, thanks for the props, wouldn't have been able to do it without them.
